Daily Music Roll: Your recent single ‘Break Down’ is earning all good reviews, how do you feel about it?
Cee Will: I love it. It’s surprising because I didn’t expect it to pop off the way that it did. I’m grateful, especially with me being a female artist. It’s a different sound.
DMR: What inspired you to craft this beautiful piece of music?
Cee Will: Love. Love is my biggest inspiration. The good and the bad parts of love.
DMR: Music has always been your passion, when exactly did you feel the push to pursue it as your career?
Cee Will: Years ago, maybe when I wrote my first song for a guy called Mr. Satisfaction. I was like oh yeah, this is my area, I need to make this happen. Songwriter and writing period, that’s my passion.
DMR: What sets you different from the other contenders in the genre?
Cee Will: The passion in my music. I don’t just make basic music. In all of my songs, there’s a message. You’ll feel my pain. You’ll feel my love. You will connect with whatever emotion I was feeling at the time that I made the song.
DMR: You’ve already amassed a strong fan base, what can they expect from you in the future?
Cee Will: Lots and lots of good music. I may not be the one singing it all the time because ultimately I want to only write music, but I’m going to give the world some good music to fall in love with and stay in love with.
DMR: To whom do you look up to for seeking motivation or inspiration?
Cee Will: God. My mother. My person, I’m in love with. It just all depends on where I am emotional. I pray and ask God to guide my mind before I do anything.
DMR: Who has been your pillar of strength throughout your journey so far?
Cee Will: My mom and my late grandmother. Those are the people I desire to make the proudest. My pops and my stepdad, they tell me whether or not the song is a hit. I hate that I couldn’t make all of this happen before my grandmother passed, so it’s like I’m pushing hard to be my absolute best for her.
DMR: How do you summarize your musical journey to date?
Cee Will: It’s a roller coaster ride of love if that makes sense. The ups, the downs, the good, the bad, and the ugly. It’s all shaping me into the artist I need to be.
DMR: If given an opportunity, with whom would you like to collaborate with?
Cee Will: Chris Brown and Tyler Perry. I love him. I just wanna write a full album for Chris and then write movies and shows for Tyler Perry. That’s the ultimate goal.
DMR: Could you share some rejoicing stories from your career?
Cee Will: Seeing people react to my single Break Down the way that they have. Getting videos of people dancing to it is amazing. Seeing its progress man and being from an area of poverty, I wanna show people how much talent can come out of the hood.
DMR: What do you feel needs to be changed or included in the current music scene?
Cee Will: Everything. We need more passion for music. We need music with real content. It’s like nowadays you can turn on the radio and all you hear is them bleeping out the profanity or booty-shaking music but what about those classic songs you can remember? What about those love songs that get you through those bad breakups, you know. That’s what we’re missing.
DMR: Would you like to share any special message to your fans, followers, or other musicians?
Cee Will: Just never stop dreaming! Let my climb to the top show you that with God, anything is possible. Invest in yourself! Believe in yourself! Fall in love with yourself! Be the best version of yourself and go hard!
