Jennifer Lopez promised her fans that they would soon hear Maluma and JLO together recording a hit song back in July. She finally dropped the sizzling renditions of their collaboration with two hot music videos ‘Pa’ Ti’ and ‘Lonely’. She debuted a two-part music video on Thursday, September 24, making the fans frenzied over the steamy onscreen love story they pulled off.
New videos of ‘Pa’ Ti’ and ‘Lonely’ are produced by Jon Leone and Édgar Barrera and co-written by Lopez and Maluma. These two singles have the best combination of reggaeton and trap melodies that flatter their musical chemistry with the top-notch down-tempo.
Lopez, a 51-year-old singer, and the charismatic Colombian artist, Maluma who won VMA a few months ago, dropped their collaboration that was on the cards. Jennifer starts the first song ‘Pa’ Ti’ with her melodic Spanish verse wearing a beautiful white dress sipping tea at her big mansion. Maluma takes the breath away with his verses in the song, looking hot with his blond hair. The two were wearing swanky costumes that project elite get-ups. Lopez acted as the bad boss wearing a sexy trouser and suit, looking chic as ever. She was the mainstay of the choreographed scene while showing off her dance moves with the fellow male dancers in the officer with a savage attitude.
“Todo lo que tengo es pa’ ti, pa ‘ti / Pase lo que pase, estoy pa’ ti, pa’ ti,” Lopez chants in Spanish in the first track, which translates to “everything I have is for you, for you / whatever happens, I’m here for you, for you.”
The two artists got close to show the growing intimacy of the characters who were indulged in a forbidden affair. The first track ended with a twisted plot where JLO was arrested while she was in bed with Maluma, who was an investigating officer. He played the role of an undercover agent who was hired to tip for the corrupted lady boss. The same scene was the overture of the second music video ‘Lonely’. It was a song of separation and hard feelings against each other with most of the clips of JLO behind the bars. The video ends with a massive twist again ending up together for another ride.
The double music videos were directed by Jessy Terrero and filmed in Huntington, NY, and New York City. They will be again seen together in the upcoming rom-com Marry Me, releasing next year in February.
In an interview with ET, Maluma stated, “It’s been an amazing month, actually. I’ve been here in New York for two or three weeks shooting the movie with Jennifer.” When he was asked about how he was enjoying the time on the set, he said, “It’s been such an amazing experience also working, doing music. I mean, we never stop.”
