The music video was directed by Colin Tilley that featured a very young and vibrant Justin as he was singing to a very young girl who was very much dressed in 2010 fashion. He was very much wandering through an aquarium and the video got a viewership of more than 290 million and it is quite an adorable piece of music.
But as we fast forward another 10 years and move into 2020, Colin Tilley is back with a bang and directed his third video of Justin Bieber that is titled ‘Holy’ and features Chance The Rapper. It has been a norm with Justin that if he shares a great rapport with someone while working he seeks enough to work with that person again and again for the umpteenth number of projects in the future.
Quite similar to the fact mentioned above, this new track happens to be the fifth time that Justin has collaborated with Chance The Rapper. It has been quite a long friendship and most probably this is not their final collaboration. The duo worked together for the first time way back in the year 2014 and it was also directed by Colin Tilley and the video and song by Justin was titled ‘Confident’ that featured Chance The Rapper. Moreover, during the back to back years 2016, 2017, and 2018 Justin and Chance actively participated in a single collaboration every year. According to the director, who spoke great words about the duo said that Chance and JB share an incredible connection and they can tell this story together as the director can help them to orchestrate as it is going to be a very powerful moment and a rightful evolution from the track ‘Confident’.
Indeed, it has been quite a powerful evolution as ‘Holy, ft. Chance The Rapper’ got 13 million views as he broke his own career record as the most viewed music video of Justin in a single day.
The music video ‘Holy’ was exotically shot at an up to the minute studio in Pomona in California that is very close to the Raging Waters in Los Angeles. And it is the same location, where the video of the track ‘Beauty and the Beat’ has been shot by Justin Bieber. This is a very different kind of video that is very much unlike the party video. The director has also said that the idea was not to go for a music video that is typical and they really worked hard to push the envelope in the direction of the narrative. It has ushered a new era for Justin Bieber and the outcome of everything can be changed with the idea that strangers are helping each other. This is very much like a light at the end of the tunnel as they tried to push even harder. The rack was sent by Justin to the director he wanted to know the meaning and what meaning does it hold to the singer. Justin went on to say that there could be some really bad days in the world but he kept on moving because of the love he shared with his wife and that is the sole and true meaning behind the song.
A different kind of character is portrayed by Justin and it is very fresh to see this in a very well crafted story that is realistic. A feeling of the drama of an indie film is evoked in most parts of the music video.
Justin Bieber went on to say that it has ushered in a new era and it had just begun. The fans are keeping their fingers crossed as they anticipate seeing more of these vibes from this time onwards. The audiences are very proud of Justin Bieber as he has dished out the most mature music video with ‘Holy’.
