Sony Music Brazil has recently launched a new Digital Accelerator Programme that would allow driving the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning developments in the Brazilian music market. As per the latest reports, Sony Music Brazil will work with a number of companies in the Brazilian start-up and developer communities to explore how technology can lead to the growth of music consumption in Brazil.
One of the key areas of the program’s focus shall be to identify music solutions that would be powered by AI and ML that can further support artist career development and also fan experiences, and also would allow developing approaches to further help in the adoption of those solutions.
Paulo Junquerio, MD of Sony Music Brazil said in a statement that they are quite excited to announce the launch of their new digital accelerator program as they have worked to use their digital innovation to help in further growing the reach and commercial opportunities for the artists and also to provide more and more transparency and ownership for artists of their own data, he added.
He went on to add that by deepening their partnership and engagement with the vibrant Brazilian developer and other start-up communities he said that they want to deliver more connections between the music lovers and the artists and also help the artists expand their reach to new audiences.
Reportedly the program ahs began with a hackathon that involves around three hundred developers, designers, and marketers. Sony has stated that the standout projects that have been created during the event including an AI took that seeks to help the hearing impaired to enjoy music, an app that also matches with the playlists to the images, and a project that promotes fan engagement through a series of social media-based challenges.
Driving with the focus to advance ideas for the new music tools and other experiences that are powered by ML and AI, the three hundred participants who have been working in the various areas such as design, marketing, engineering and development, business development and retail, has been working with a team of thirty experienced mentors from the Sony Music Brazil for over two days. The participants have also created over thirty projects during the Hackathon including three winning projects named Feel The Music, AVAI (Audio Visual A.I), and Filtr Hit.
The Feel The Music project seeks to help the hearing impaired to enjoy listening to music where the AI identifies a music track’s rhythm and further translates it into vibrations from a user’s smartphone.
AVAI is a project that uses AI to help the consumers match music playlists to specific images and Filtr Hit is a project that increases the consumption of music through ML.
Apart from receiving prizes, the winners shall also work closely with the team of Sony Music Brazil to scale their projects for real-world application.
In the business domain, Sony Music Brazil is further expanding the education and other internal adoption of SAI and ML solutions by using tools such as Brainstorm and LinkedIn Learning to collaborate virtually.
Furthermore, Sony Music Brazil has stated that it intends to have more collaboration with the country’s tech community via more knowledge-sharing panel discussions, hackathons, talks, and other exploring initiatives that would build the digital skills in the young people who primarily belong to the disadvantaged backgrounds.
