American singer Vidya Vox has set the stage on fire with her performance on NH7 Weekender

NH7 Weekender’s latest ceremony got enriched with Vidya Vox’s flawless performance on her latest track ‘Appadi Podu Di’.

The artist has tried to talk about her complexities and the struggles that she went through while growing up. The performance started with a very personal speech of the artist and the mood quickly escalated with her power pact performance.

 On her latest Instagram post, she said “Growing up, kids always teased me about my skin color, my Indian food lunch, and taunted me by asking if my house smelled like ‘curry’. I’d feel ashamed, and started hiding my lunches, trying to blend in as much as possible”.

She further added, “But now, I’m proud of all of these things and my heritage. This was the inspiration behind this song ‘Appadi Podu Di,”. It is a term of her native language Tamil which means “put it like that” or “give it back”.

This talented American is born in Chennai and moved to the USA at the age of 8 years only. Influenced by electronic dance music, rap, and Carnatic music, the artist provides a fusion flavor of Indo-American music.

Being proud of her music and race she said, ”I’m proud to be a tadka of dual cultures, especially while singing this song, and hope you feel it too!”.

The track ‘Appadi Podu Di’ appears in the latest EP by this artist named ‘Mad Dreams’.

This is one of her own favorite works as she exclaimed, “Dark knees, dark eyes, no powder, sun-filled, my skin holds power” – my fav lyric from “Appadi Podu Di”!

In the NH7 Weekender music festival, Vidya provided a powerful performance on this track with her brisk move, high octane music, featuring co-dancers with the artist’s fusion get up and strong appearance.

With the latest performance, the artist has garnered a lot of attention with her unique music, and a humble approach to the audience.
