‘UP’ becomes Cardi B’s fifth chart-topping single after reaching number 1 on Billboard Hot 100

Cardi B’s second song from her second studio album ‘Up’ hits number 1 spot in the Billboard Hot 100 list recently. After she performed the track at the 63rd annual Grammy Awards, the song jumped from number 6 to number 1 in just a matter of days. The first single ‘WAP’ featuring fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion, also hit the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100. It made Cardi B the only female rapper who got the number one spot on the Hot 100 in two different decades, that is in the 2010s and 2020s.

After her Grammy performance, the single ‘Up’ has made 18,000 downloads sold and 22.7 million online streams alone in the United States. It also ranked number 1 in the Hot Rap Songs list and Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs list. After Lizzo’s 2019 hit ‘Truth Hurts’, Cardi B became the first female rapper who acquired the number one spot on all these charts. Before Lizzo, It was also Cardi, who achieved it with her single ‘Bodak Yellow’.

With ‘Up’, Cardi B hits number 1 spot on Billboard Hot 100 for the fifth time. She expressed her joy by posting an image of this week’s top 10 list. She wrote, ‘I Yoooooo shit is amazing yoooooo. I got no words. Actually, I got a lot of words but I can’t type it all NUMBER 1!!!!!’

On an Instagram live, she chatted with her husband Offset, who she considers as her biggest supporter. The couple celebrated her success as a family. Silk Sonic’s (Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak) debut single ‘Leave the Door Open’ is at number 2, while Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Divers License’ is at number 3. It is followed ‘What’s Next’ by Drake and ‘Save Your Tears’ by The Weeknd.
