(DailyMusicRole Editorial):- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Mar 31, 2021 (Issuewire.com) – April is Jazz Appreciation Month, and The Jazz Sanctuary will celebrate with the debut of its latest free video performance online on Thursday, April 1st.
Currently celebrating the non-profit performing arts program’s 10th anniversary, The Jazz Sanctuary will premiere the sixth video of “The Jazz Sanctuary – Live” on their website, http://www.JazzSanctuary.com/the-jazz-sanctuary-live/. It will also be available on-demand on the website under the “Music Events” tab for “The Jazz Sanctuary – Live”.
The video concert, recorded in March, features a Jazz Sanctuary Band: The Alan Segal Quintet with musicians Eddie Etkins (sax, clarinet, flute), Leon Jordan Sr. (drums), Randy Sutin (vibes), James Del’Orefice (piano) and Alan Segal (bass) in performance, joined by guest vocalists Paula Johns and Lynne Riley, highlighting this year’s Jazz Appreciation Month theme, “Women in Jazz.”
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic protocols, the artists and performers from The Jazz Sanctuary have not been able to perform in front of a live audience since March 2020 but have come together in a controlled studio environment six times, counting this latest video concert, to perform as a group. The previous five video concerts have been viewed by several thousand supporters, and all the concerts are available at any time on-demand at The Jazz Sanctuary website.
