Austin Texas Based Alt-pop music project Chords Of Eve follow up their sultry single “Like I’m on Fire” with the new song “Spinning” from the upcoming LP Butterfly Machine. The song is one of their largest collaboration projects to date.
“Spinning” was mixed and mastered by Grammy winner Yoad Nevo (Sia, Goldfrapp), the vocals were recorded by female pop vocalist Nekane in Bilbao, Spain, the lyrics/music were written and produced by Atlas Cage in Austin, Texas. The cover art for the single was created by designer Tatiana Jitkoff and features Austin-based actress/influencer Elizaveta Dovgish.
The song is a balance of hope and cynicism, with an awareness of what has come before us and what could come after.
It reflects on the world’s indifference to the people who are destroying it and each other. Despite these things, the world continues to spin. It asks the deeper question of once we are gone, what will be the legacy of our actions?
The opening line “Here’s to the sunrise tomorrow, everyone holds up a glass. Cheers to a shiny future, I’m hoping that this one lasts” is a toast to surviving another day, we made it and can celebrate the small victories.
The climax of the song leaves the listener with a positive yet haunting statement of “All in time, we’ll be fine, at least that’s what they say”.
In parallel with this release, Sky Titan Media and Chords of Eve are teaming up with The Other Ones Foundation in Austin, Texas to help those who are experiencing homelessness. The Other Ones Foundation helps transition Austin’s homeless neighbors into an engaged community through shelter, opportunity, and support. 100% of all proceeds from “Spinning” music packs (made available on the Sky Titan Media website on April 15th,2021) will go to The Other Ones Foundation to support their mission and will be matched up to $1000.
[ABOUT]
Created in 2019, Chords Of Eve is the brainchild of American multi-instrumentalist Atlas Cage and features a number of international female vocalists. Described as “futuristic psych-pop”, the bands’ fusion of alt-pop, electro-pop, and trip-hop has attracted critical acclaim.
Taking influence from the airy vocals of Lana Del Rey, sonic swaddling of Portishead with just a dab of groove from artists like Banks and Deb Never, genre-bending Chords of Eve compliment their unique sound with striking cinematic sci-fi inspired visuals to help tell their stories.
