Making sure to impress his audience for the very first time, artist Will makes a strong debut in the industry with his solid ten tracks album ‘Will tomorrow ever come’. The artist grew up in an environment that was dominated by music and cultivated a deep knack for creating and experimenting with melodies. After years of practice, the artist has dropped his new album that comprises of songs like ‘We Meet’, ‘Tonight Is Forever’, ‘We Meet Again’, and ‘Home (DJ’S Lost Letter)’, each of which highlight his magnificent skill. The songs are eclectic, danceable, and sound amazing in the singer’s upbeat textured voice. Creatively evolving, the songs wrap their wings around the listener and simultaneously prompt them to tap their feet. The best part is the singer giving a brief before the initiation about his story.
Recently, our team had the chance to share a short conversation with this rising star, and he was quite keen on expressing his thoughts and sharing his experience with us. Read below to find out the details.
Daily Music Roll: Congratulations on making such a successful debut, how do you feel about it?
Will: Been a long time coming. I’ve always wanted a project like this, but with my signature dish of course “heavy Pop drums”. I feel I’ve at least gone halfway to where I eventually wanna end up, to shape the near future of EDM mixing, drums and vocals. You supposed to want to turn the volume up everytime you play EDM, which means it’s very satisfying when the quality is crazy good, especially drums.
Daily Music Roll: What or who had been your constant inspiration throughout?
Will: When it comes to EDM it always has been Avicii. In 2015 he released Stories, the album consists of sounds every producer has in the studio. That’s when I felt like..well.. I can do this. Even my album has the simplicity he introduced to EDM, my song “Together” had to be on the tracklist of my album, just to make sure that people understand that the feeling is put there on purpose. I mean let’s admit it, we want that music feeling to live on, and we miss it. Let’s just do it! But Will Tomorrow Ever Come had to sound like it introduces a new artist, listening to the whole album will help you realize that.
Daily Music Roll: What inspired you to create your debut album ‘Will tomorrow ever come’?
Will: The idea of being a Rap producer, and suddenly try to get people to dance through melody sounded both insane and fascinating. The challenge made me wanna do it, wanting to learn something new and evolve as a producer, and try bigger ideas that no one believes I could pull off. It’s the combination of many things, including seeing people losing themselves on the dance floor inspired me a lot, I mean..how do you drive people that crazy through music?
Daily Music Roll: How do you believe your music is different from your musical peers?
Will: I strongly believe my music peers have simpler methods. Let’s say you wanna make a music album. The first thing you gonna do is hit the studio and hope for the best. My music sounds heavier and complete because I did not use simple methods. I had to get out there, talk to DJs at their home studio and at the clubs 2019-2020. They shared their playlists with me while listening to my melodies and giving advice. I wanted to know that no one will ever feel something is missing on my songs for this album. So I simply took and collected criticism, and used it to make my music better. In the process I invented a way of mixing this particular album, to make sure it sounds loud and clear. I had to find the best songwriter for each song, the best voice and make sure they understand how serious this is.
Daily Music Roll: What is that one philosophy that you live by?
Will: Do what you wanna do, live now.
Daily Music Roll: If you could change that one thing in the music industry, what would it be?
Will: I hate this new way of making music. Make it as fast as possible and get keep getting streams. The sound quality is awful. I’d like for the future music to be ear-candy. And I wanna help do just that.
Daily Music Roll: You have said that it’s just the tip of the iceberg, what do you mean by it?
Will: If you are a producer of something, it usually means you have a lot of it somewhere waiting for a rainy day. To eventually have a good album ready I had to record 3 times as many songs compared to the amount that appears on the tracklist. The unreleased tracks will be released as singles, some on an EP, while a few are chosen to inspire my next album. That is what I mean, I’m just warming up!
Daily Music Roll: Are there any singers or artists you would like to collaborate with, in the coming years?
Will: Not exactly, I can imagine making an EDM song with Adele, but I will always try to bring new talents in the spotlight because I strongly believe that it will make my EDM music sound fresh. New artists, new ideas and new voices on an EDM album, it’s such a refreshing feeling.
Daily Music Roll: How do you aim to connect with your fans?
Will: I’ll be available on social media and sharing whatever it is that is happening, plans for future projects. And I’ll make sure that they have a clear picture of how much I care about delivering the best music with the best possible sound quality.
Daily Music Roll: What has been your fondest memory so far in the industry?
Will: A very famous South African producer called DJ Tira, walked into the studio when I was making a rap song with one of his producers. He didn’t like it, he just walked out looking annoyed or disappointed. He’s like…South African Dr.Dre. I’ll always remember that, so I have to eventually payback.
Daily Music Roll: What’s the best piece of advice you would give to the other striving artists?
Will: If the idea you have as an artist doesn’t work, change it, evolve, success does without a doubt require big sacrifices. Your music will always sound like your music, forget old styles, shape the future of music instead.
Daily Music Roll: Is there anything that you would like to share with your fans and followers?
Will: Yes, I will never release and promote music with good sound quality. It’s hard to make good songs all the time. But sound quality, that’s me!
