Upfront and clean rapping styles have united with a brilliant musical arrangement in the latest banger ‘Plug Mi Amor’ by SmokeSTKZ. The track is clean, smooth and capable enough to create a huge buzz among the listeners. This Dallas-based hip hop artist has made some significant progress through his musical career and provided listeners many enticing singles like, ‘J.U.U.G’, ‘Crime Pays’, etc to name some. We would like to thank the artist for sharing a few words regarding his life and musical journey with everyone.
Q. ‘Plug Mi Amor’ has already garnered much attention from listeners. How are feeling about the latest release?
Ans. I feel good about how it turned out, I just hope people enjoy it as much as we did making it. Huss (@hussonthebeat) and everyone who contributed to it really put their all into making this video and I think it paid off In the end
Q. Starting back in 2015 with ‘UGLY’, it has been quite some time. How would you like to explain your musical journey?
Ans. Back then was when it all really started, long days recording, late nights in the studio. We started picking up some attention, but right when the ball started moving I got sentenced for a probation violation and had to go sit down for acouple years. After I got out I got right back to it but it took a minute to build back what we had. It’s all good though I love this shit to death so a lil hard work ain’t finna stop nothing.
Q. How did your knack for hip-hop and rap grow?
Ans. Honestly I was making music even when I was little as hell I had a lil computer microphone and would just talk shit into a mic over a little trash beat I would make on one of my dads computer programs haha (the music was Ass). My pops played piano and all that. Before he left I used to always wanna make music like him, just not the same genre. That carries over the years to me in the car freestylin while we would smoke n shit. And eventually I took it to the studio and fell in love.
Q. Would you like to name some of your creative influences? What influences you about them?
Ans. Really I would say my biggest influences are some of the people I work with, Mr. Lee , Lil Bang, BlessTheKid, Huss, and Shaquan Bivens. There’s a lot more but those are my top 6
Q. Is music your full-time profession?
Ans. Hell yeah, I put everything out into this. Blood Sweat n Tears.
Q. What are your views on the modern music industry?
Ans. Right now is the biggest opportunity for Artists because we’re falling out of the major label age. Now we have tools to do all this shit ourselves. It would be easier with a label but I ain’t tryna pay none of that shit back. I want all of mine. I’m excited about how the industry is tho, shits changing and the music only gets doper.
Q. How do you find inspirations to write?
Ans. That depends some times I will write 4 bars and punch in the rest. Sometimes I write the whole song. Some times I just punch it in. I just look at what’s goin on in my life and everything around me. I ain’t with that just tryna rhyme words together shit. I got something to say so I lock myself in the booth and won’t come out until something on wax.
Q. How do you prefer to incorporate bars into your songs? Lyrics first or music?
Ans. I usually will fuck with the melody or cadence first and then put words to it. I feel like the beat will talk to you when it’s the right one. You just gotta put the pieces of the puzzle together.
Q. As a well-seasoned hip-hop artist, what advice would you like to give to emerging rappers?
Ans. You really gotta dedicate your time into this. Worry about the money and shit later. Spend time finding your sound and perfecting your craft so in the future this shit is second hand to you. Once you got that down, put a solid team together bc ain’t a chance in hell you finna do this by yourself. I wouldn’t be half as far as I am right now without everybody around me that is helping me put this together. If this really wat you want then give it all you got . Period.
Q. Is there any upcoming project releasing soon? Please shed some light.
Ans. Yea I have a few more singles about to drop that’s leading up to my upcoming project TFMG (Tax Free Money Gang) that should be out in a few months. Me and Huss also got a few more visuals in the works right now
Q. Name an artist with whom you desire to collaborate in the future.
Ans. Future one Fssho, some others would be Maxo Kream, Sauce Walka, Doe Boy, and Kodak Black.
Q. Is there anything you would like to tell your listeners?
Ans. Hell yeah, thank y’all for real, y’all supportin me means more than anything in this world to me. I wouldn’t be shit with out y’all. I hope y’all fuck with all this new work I got lined up for y’all. Love u till the world die 🏼
