DMR: Which name would you like to promote your work in?

Ans:     King Kay the King Of Vibes

DMR:  What are your new releases?

Ans:      I am dropping Spitcho on the 25th of June with the bro Gift Genesis. We have found a real connection when it comes to creativity and we have a number of tracks we can’t wait to drop. You may have already been enjoying Anita that we dropped a month ago and that is growing every day in listeners and streams. Spitcho is more dedicated to Gift and his South African Heritage. We have always done West African style Afro tracks with London life influence but it was time to get the Joburg vibes going.

DMR:  Where do you hail from?

Ans:     I am from Accra in Ghana I moved to the UK and stayed mostly in London until recently.

DMR:  Are you associated with any record label or production house?

Ans:     I am currently under management at Evision Music Group with Kwoffstar my manager who I have known for a number of years has taken me under his wing and helped to push my music and the new me to the world.

DMR: How important are live gigs in the career of an artist?

Ans:    Live gigs are everything. As someone who has been part of the most successful Afro dance group the Ghana boyz, I had the opportunity to perform at every major stage in UK from the Ghana Party in the Park to the 02 Arena. Being side by side with the like of Stonebwoy, Shattawale, Sarkodie, Davido and more the energy from shows bring life and keeps you going the feedback every time we came of the stage made us want to do more, and I want to be able to give the same energy post covid to my fans.

DMR: What is the responsibility of the audience in the expansion of music and artists around the world?

Ans:    I think the audience should just be able to enjoy the music within their comfort zones and organically grow with the artist if they enjoy the sound. I don’t ask for more just real love

DMR: Which old-school and new-school musicians inspire your work the most?

Ans:  Donaeo, Castro D’Stroyer, King Promise, Mr Eazi and more they all blend in quite well with their ability to deliver timeless music.

DMR: Do you think the music industry will change its course post 2020?

Ans:     I believe the music industry will definitely change because of people’s habits changing during covid. I think people have gone from socially enjoying music to doing so in more isolated spaces and the industry adapted to this new way. what happens from here would be interesting to see.

DMR: What are your upcoming plans?

Ans:    I am working hard on the KOV tape which stands for KING OF VIBES which is me all over and that is how I want my fans to receive it as a real introduction to me.
