Kanika Kapoor was born on 21st August 1978, in Lucknow Uttar Pradesh, and belongs to a business-class family with a strong musical background. She pursued her B.A. and M.A. in music and started learning music from a very young age from Pandit Ganesh Prasad Mishra. Her first opportunity as a singer was presented when she was offered to sing on the All India Radio.
Kanika is also a trained Kathak dancer and runs her fashion brand named ‘Kanika Kapoor: House of Chikankari’. Even though the famous Bollywood singer has had a successful time on-screen her personal life has been through a lot of ups and downs. Kanika married her cousin’s best friend Dr. Raj Chandok in 1997 and moved to London. They have two daughters named Samara and Aayana, and a son named Yuvraaj. All staying together for 15 years, the couple had split up in 2010 when Kanika found her husband cheating on her. They finally got divorced in 2012.
