The confirmation of the news of another death from Travis Scott’s Astroworld festival brings the toll of death to 10.
The fight of a 9-year-old kid finally came to the end with death. After having been injured brutally in Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival, he has gone into a coma due to brain, liver, and kidney trauma. With his death, the total number of casualties now stands at 10.
A boy, of 9 years old, is identified as Ezra Blount by his family. According to his grandfather, he went to the concert with his father and became the prey of calamity. Bernon Blount (grandfather of the victim said that his son went there to see his “favorite artist” perform. He also mentioned that his son took his grandson upon his shoulder. As the crowd started pushing him forward he felt breathless and fainted. Therefore, his grandson fell from the shoulder and was trampled by the crowd, “…all the pressure that was being applied to his body. And when he passed out, Ezra fell off his shoulder and fell into the crowd.”
When Bernon’s son came to the home, his grandson was taken to the Texas Children’s Hospital already. He said his grandson got a cardiac arrest and his liver, kidney, and brain were damaged as well. The incident shook them completely. The father-son duo went there to spend some happy hours, which turned out to be an unchangeable and unforgettable loss for them.
According to the family attorney Ben Crump, “The Blount family tonight is grieving the incomprehensible loss of their precious young son. This should not have been the outcome of taking their son to a concert, what should have been a joyful celebration……But tonight we stand in solidarity with the family, in grief, and in prayer'”.
Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner offered his condolence to the family of the victim. He said, “I am saddened to learn of Ezra’s death this evening. He further added, “They will need all of our support in the months and years to come. May God give them strength. RIP Ezra.”
The increasing number of death continuously questions the organizers’ reluctance to stop the catastrophe before it reached its peak, and Travis Scott’s nature to charge his audience up with unnecessary energy.
