Almost 40 years ago, the partial human remains that raised curiosity is finally identified as belongings to Frank Little Jr., an ex-band member of O’Jays, according to police.
The Twinsburg police, in Ohio, on Tuesday announced that the DNA of the relatives was matched to confirm the remains found in February 1982. Police also mentioned that they could not find the reason for the disappearance and death of Little.
Having been raised in Cleveland, Frank Little Jr. was the guitarist and songwriter of the band O’Jays in the 60s. The band also released a statement saying that he was part of the band in the initial days. They have not heard about him since.
The statement goes like this, “He came with us when we first ventured out of Cleveland and traveled to Los Angeles, but he also was in love with a woman in Cleveland that he missed so much that he soon returned to Cleveland after a short amount of time”. They also showed their condolence to his family.
Little served two years in the US army, which included his deployment during the Vietnam War as per the recent news release. It also states that he had a daughter who died in 2021, and his son is not found or located yet.
When remains were found in 1982, it was believed that the bones were a few years old, and it also showed some signs of blunt force trauma, according to WEWS. Police ruled the incident as a homicide. They declared that the remains belonged to a 5’6” tall person aging from 25 to 35, and they also said he might have had a spinal curvature.
A detective from Twinsburg, Eric Hendershott, told WEWS, “It’s definitely nice that we can give some answers to the family and hopefully they have some sense of closure”. He further added He had a life, and ultimately he ended up here in Twinsburg, with his life taken by another.
Police also believe that he was alive till the 70s, and used to reside in Cleveland just 24 miles away from the place where his remains were found. The police are still investigating the case to find out what actually happened to him.
