After spending eight long months in the lockdown from 2020 rapper Nigavithran has finally finished and launched his first album ‘82 D Block’. Successfully buzzing among the listeners this latest album offer eight skillfully crafted tracks that are capable of taking very back to the memory lane where the artist grew up.

While the success is coming on the way, the rapper was caught in an act with police at the protest that took place in Chepauk’s Lock Nagar before the release of the album. He was on the lookout until it was proven to the police that he was not guilty.

Nigavithran is well known for raising his voice against the follies of the socio-political structures and he took no chance but expressed his thought through the track ‘Pazhiku Pazhi’. This catchy and intriguing track appears on his first EP ‘Dishonored’ along with other amazing bangers.

However, this police incident is not the reason behind his frustration that reflects through the other tracks. He is devastated by the ill-treatment and struggle that emerging rappers of Chennai have to go through just to spread their talent.

Talking about the music platforms he said, “They have only been encouraging and publicising already established indie artists. Very little space is given to emerging rappers,”. He explains further, “If you have to make a big mark, you have no other option but to go through them.”

However, the rapper did not blame anyone for the situation and said, “I am not blaming anybody, it’s just that that is how it works.”

Nigavithran has to go through a fair share of struggles to gain success and to create the space where he belongs now. He said, “I have performed at music shows and events. There have been times I have felt they have used me as a filler before the main performance.” He made the track ‘N.I.G.A’ to introduce himself and let listeners know him better.

The track ‘Black Panther’ reflects this unwavering personality along with his love for Marvel and DC. On the other hand, ‘Peruku Hip-Hop’ sheds light on the matter of how talented artists are struggling to get their chance in the current indie scene. However, the rapper ends his EP with ‘Ondraga Payanipom’ that shares a positive vibe with a message, “I and my music shall travel along.”

The EP ‘Dishonored’ is produced by the Dudez, the rapper has collaborated with Lenix, Nina Sam, Stan, and D Vinoth to create this amazing EP. Fellow rappers also showed appreciation by saying, “it was made for us.”
