Enormously talented rapper from California SupaNova Slom has come up with his brand-new music video ‘SUPA MEGA’ on his YouTube channel which is a super hit and one of a kind in the hip hop music industry. The video already crossed more than 100k views within 24 hours after its release. Today, we have got an opportunity to talk with the artist and discuss about his musical career along with his latest production:
1. Hello SupaNova Slom, congratulations on your latest music video release ‘SUPA MEGA’.We are glad to see that your music video has been receiving lots of love from around the world. The music video is truly one of a kind. Tell us something more about what went on behind the scenes while shooting?
Ans. The director Jae mars found an awesome sound stage in Harlem NYC for us to shoot at. We shot a bunch of performances between two rooms, one black, and one white. It was really up to me to get into a great vibe and give up some high-energy takes.
2. What is the significance of the title ‘SUPA MEGA’ according to you?
Ans. “If I want it I’m gone go get it manifest” is my opening charge in the song, and Supa Mega simply means taking charge of your life, health, and wellness, and doing it big and massive for yourself.
3. How do you feel after getting so much love for your latest release?
Ans. It truly means a lot. Being an independent artist and creating to connect is a daily equation I seek to solve.
4. We would like to know how you manage to compose a track so well and with the perfect balance of lyrics and music?
Ans. It’s a vibe. I just felt that people needed some feel-good affirmational hip hop to get through the daily ebb and flows of life in these times. The lyrics just flowed, the best was a throwback remake of a drake beat/song “10 Bands” and it just all aligned.
5. Were there any difficulties that you faced while shooting the video?
Ans. The director did a few rough edits once we were in the post because her main editor was unavailable, it just was not shaping upright so I reached out to “Tehuti Films” to come through and help bring the edit and graphics to the finish line. That they did, incredibly.
6. What was the reason behind choosing hip hop as your preferred genre of music?
Ans. It’s the sound and voice of my and future generations. Hip Hop is the pulse of the planet, done with intention and positivity it can be very transformational.
7. What is the subject matter of your music?
Ans. Reality rap, Wellness, and Warrior god-fearing music.
8. Can you tell us what/who is your inspiration if there are any?
Ans. I’m inspired by fearless creatives/artists who are not sacred to create outside the box.
9. What are your thoughts on today’s music industry?
Ans. I feel the music is slowly expanding. More artists are starting to be open to alternative sounds and forms of creating and experimentation. The industry itself still needs to open its reach to the alternative artists and give them a chance to compete with greater marketing support. I’m feeling it will all align.
10. Any upcoming release that you are planning for?
Ans. I’m prepping to release a few more visual buzz videos this spring to continue to build more excitement and awareness around art, while still working on a new album aiming for a late summer release.
11. You are truly an inspiration for many. What will be your message for all the upcoming hip-hop artists?
Ans. My Message is, to be your authentic self. Find your voice and do it epic. Keep growing. Keep going.
12. Anything you would like to say to your fans from all around the world?
Ans. Supreme gratitude for the support. Continued blessings, wellness salute!
