Mary J. Blige, the hip-hop star stunned everyone at the Super Bowl stadium with her crystal-embellished bodysuit along with her outstanding performance.
At the halftime of the Super Bowl, the stadium turned into a fiery stage where renowned artists like Snoop Dog, Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, 50 cent, Eminem, and the Queen of R&B hip-hop Mary J. Blige has taken up the stage.
The stadium turned into a hip-hop-themed party at half-time.
The hip-hop star Mary J. Blige has astonished everyone not only with her emotional hits but with her exclusive attire also.
The artist wore a bodysuit that is embellished with 10,000 Swarovski crystals.
Her gorgeous look has been completed with a long-sleeve crop top with detailed designs, a hat, and a pair of thigh-high matching boots.
The dress has been made by the Norwegian fashion designer Peter Dundas. The detailed work of it has taken everyone’s heart.
Before establishing his own brand Peter Dundas was the creative director for the Italian brand Roberto Cavalli. In 2017 he created his own label.
The artist Mary J. Blige performed her 2001 hits ‘Family Affair’ and ‘No More Drama’. The poignant performance of her has melted the onlooker’s heart.
Her performance took place after Lamar’s performance. She completed her act surrounded by amazing dancers. Her act reminded the performance of Beyonce’s 2016 show.
The dress has been made with laser-cut mirrors, crystals, and pearl beadwork. The dress gave a sparkling animal-print look with it.
Mary J. Blige pulled off the look gracefully. The designer himself commented that she looked like a ‘snow leopard’, which is true to every core of it.
Her mirror look made her the reflection of her audience.
After the performance, Dundas made a declaration that they will make the virtual version of the outfit available for everyone as a non-fungible token also known as the NFT. Everyone will get access to the digital fashion platform DressX.
Along with the crystal dress, they will sell the after-party dress too. With the digital garments, the fans will be able to see the look of themselves in the dress, said the designer via a press release.
The designer even added, that ‘try on the performance looks in augmented reality anytime and anywhere in the world — something that could almost never be achieved in the physical world’.
Dundas has worked on this large scale before too. He designed the last Met Gala look of Mary J. Blige, where she wore a golden shimmery dress. He even designed the crystal-embellished red dress for Shakira’s performance in 2020.
