Guinness World Record for BCCI, AR Rahman’s ‘Jai Ho’ combined with Ranveer Singh’s ever-energetic dance performance stole the closing ceremony of the IPL 2022 final
The Indian Premier League (IPL) is not only a cricket competition in India but also a sporting festival full of emotions that unites people from all the states in India.
Like any other year, this year’s IPL final was another fiesta as fans witnessed Gujarat Titans lifting the trophy in their debut season.
Last night, a magnificent closing ceremony enthralled the fans at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium prior to the summit battle between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR).
The Narendra Modi Stadium was packed to capacity, with 1,04,859 people in attendance.
Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri approached the stage and conducted the unforgettable event, which was greeted with thunderous applause across the stadium.
“Kemcho, Ahmedabad?” Ravi Shastri inquired. Shastri began the event by thanking the fans for helping to make the Indian Premier League (IPL) ‘bigger and better’ each year. “Let the emotions of the past sink in,” he said.

At the opening of the ceremony, Shastri made a major revelation, announcing that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has broken the Guinness World Record for the largest sports jersey ever, measuring 66/42 meters.
The trophy was presented to BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah. The record jersey, which included the logos of all 10 teams who competed in the 2022 edition, was preserved near the middle of the field.
Following the awards, Ranveer Singh, a well-known Bollywood actor, went center stage and impressed the audience with a beautiful dance performance. Ranveer Singh’s performance in Ahmedabad drove the entire audience to their feet.
The crowd went wild as Singh performed the song “Jeetega Jeetega” from the film “83.” Ranveer added some spice by quoting a famous line from another film, ‘KGF.’ Ranveer Singh’s dancing performance was enjoyed by Khiladi Akshay Kumar.
Ranveer Singh’s dance performance, which included Master’s ‘Vaathi Coming’ and RRR’s ‘Naatu Naatu,’ was the ideal start to the IPL 2022 closing ceremony’s electrifying evening.
Following Ranveer’s brilliance, famous musician AR Rahman gave a performance for the ages, performing searing renditions of some of his greatest hits, including “Vande Mataram,” “Jai Ho,” and “Rang De Basanati.”

To honor India’s eight decades of cricket, Rahman performed. Rahman sang the chart-topping Yuva song to represent Indian cricket’s success in the 1970s, and he sang Lagaan’s ‘Baar Baar Haan’ as the story moved to the 1980s.
To get the audience up and moving, AR Rahman enlisted the services of the famous rapper Blaaze. AR Rahman was backed by musicians Neeti Mohan, Mohit Chouhan, Sivamani, Shweta Mohan, and Sasha Tripathi.
Ranveer completed a lap of the stadium and joined Rahman on stage near the end of the concert, eliciting the loudest applause of the evening. The event commemorated India’s 75th anniversary of independence as well as the IPL’s 15th anniversary.
“Have a great game. God bless you all. Jai Ho.” As the maestro’s musical concert came to an end, AR Rahman exclaimed.

As RR & GT prepared to take the field, the action shifted towards cricketing action. Sanju Samson, the RR captain, won the toss and elected to bat first. For the second time in history, the 2008 champions were attempting to repeat their status of becoming champions. Meanwhile, GT made the final on their first attempt and tried to win the match in front of their home crowd.
