Canadian singer Justin Bieber revealed his suffering from the Ramsay Hunt syndrome through an Instagram video which caused him facial paralysis and postponing his shows.
28-years-old heartthrob Justin Bieber showed his suffering from facial paralysis through an Instagram post. He said that it is the condition due to his diagnosis of Ramsay Hunt syndrome.
In the video, the artist said, “As you can see this eye is not blinking. I can’t smile on this side of my face… So there’s full paralysis on this side of my face,” and it was quite evident. In order to make his 240 million followers see his condition, he also smiled and blinked to show that it did not move.
According to medical experts, the Ramsay Hunt syndrome affects the facial nerve with a shingle outbreak. In some cases, the patient can face paralysis near, the cheek or even half of the face.
The singer has also explained his disease through a 3-minute long video and said, “It is from this virus that attacks the nerve in my ear and my facial nerves and has caused my face to have paralysis,” while pointing at his right side of the face.

This week, Justin Beiber’s Justice World Tour was supposed to take place which started back in February. However, three of the shows were postponed. The singer has asked his fans to be patient at the moment and wait until the shows take place again.
He also said that he is “physically, obviously, not capable of doing them”. He further said that “This is pretty serious, as you can see. I wish this wasn’t the case, but, obviously, my body’s telling me I’ve got to slow down,” which is quite heart-breaking for many of the ‘Beliebers’.
The Canadian singer addressed his fans and said, “I hope you guys understand. I’ll be using this time to just rest and relax and get back to a hundred percent so that I can do what I was born to do.”
Recovery from Ramsay Hunt syndrome can take some time and the singer also said that he has done a lot of facial exercises lately in order to “get back to normal”. However, the time for recovery is still unknown.
The singer had a quite tight schedule with shows at Washington DC and Toronto this week and in New York and Los Angeles in the coming weeks. Now it is time for fans to have faith in their favorite Justin Bieber.
