It is said that music is the saviour of one’s soul and Yo JUANITA is recently proving this with her music. I have always been a hip-hop kind of a girl but Yo JUANITA’s newest releases such as ‘Play Offs’, ‘Anything’, ‘Love is in the Music’ and ‘Never Even There’ got me interested into R&B. Born in America, YOJ developed a taste in music since a young age and went on to become a songwriter, producer and rapper/singer. Personally going through these tracks I couldn’t differentiate between her rapper or singing skills, both seemed impeccable when compare with other renowned artists. Since the launch of her first track in 2013, her evolvements as an artist can be seen in her latest creations ‘Play Offs’, ‘Anything’, ‘Love is in the Music’ and ‘Never Even There’.
Among all the tracks ‘Love is in the Music’ stood out for me the most. Through it’s a soulful the hip-hop rhythm prominently beats out. This track has got a little of everything for every listener. The melodic line is ambient throughout the track. Compared to this ‘Never Even There’ has got that classic hip-hop tune to it. In fact, these are the kind of tracks I listen to. You will get dancing from the very beginning of ‘Never Even There’. Its catchy vibes remain with you soon after the track is over. In both ‘Play Offs’, ‘Anything’, Yo JUANITA has infused a combination of RnB and hip-hop. The artist’s voice rises is intense in ‘Play Offs’ while ‘Anything’ is a track that you should not miss.
