“She Wolf” gets to be the first receiver of Billboard’s prestigious “Latin Woman of the Year” Award at the first-ever Mujeres Latinas en la Música, or Latin Women in Music, gala. This is going to be a two-hour music special award function hosted by Ivy Queen and Jacqueline Bracamontes. The sole motive of this celebration is to honor Latin women in music. The celebration will take place at the Watsco Center in Miami on May 6th. And on the 7th of May, the function will air exclusively on Telemundo at 9 p.m. ET/ 8 p.m. Ct.
The show is going to be the first of its kind, celebrating female music artists, executives, and music creators. In short, anyone who is proactively working for the betterment of the Latin music industry will be acknowledged. And not just that, this award function also celebrates inclusion and gender parity in the music industry. Highly extensive music figures like Ana Gabriel, Emilia, Evaluna, Goyo, and Thalia, are going to be awarded for their exciting and comprehensive works at the inaugural event presented by Billboard and Telemundo.
In 2022, Shakira made her Spanish-language debut ‘Monotonía’ featuring Ozuna. And the release experienced a record-breaking sensation and it became one of the finest releases on this global musical phenomenon. Her ‘Sessions’ became the most-streamed Latin track within just 24 hours after the song dropped online. And it broke 14 Guinness World Records within a mere span of 24 hours.
Leila Cobo, Billboard’s chief content officer for Latin/Español, said, “Shakira is the ultimate Woman in Music.
