Dua Lipa has officially released ‘Dance The Night’ as a part of her upcoming movie, Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie’. You can listen to the disco-pop track on Spotify.
Dua Lipa has shared her new song ‘Dance The Night’ along with a music video as her contribution to Gretar Gerwig’s upcoming Movie ‘Barbie’ soundtrack. The video is all pink, features giant disco balls and you guessed it right… Greta herself makes a cameo appearance at the end. Dua will also be featured in the movie, which is Greta’s version of the famous dolls and their lives.
After her Future Nostalgia era, Dua’s new music is giving hope to her fans. Even though she has continued with the theme of disco-pop, similar to her previous releases and sophomore album, fans are quick to decode the secret goodbye in the video. There is a giant disco ball that is seen to be broken on set at the start of the video, which according to some fans is an indicator of the end of the Future Nostalgia era. We get to see glimpses of the Barbies, Margot Robbie, Emma Mackie, and Issa Ray dancing on a giant stage, filled with other Barbies and Kens. However, none spotted Ryan Gosling, but he is just Ken, so we will leave it at that.
The music is uplifting and upbeat and is promoted no less than the film itself. Dua Lipa’s inspiration came from the movie and the set itself as it was clearly reflected in both the music video and the song’s composition. Produced by Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt, and the Picard Brothers, the song itself will give you a vibe that you are in a pink set, wearing a glittery outfit and truly dancing the night away.
The song ‘Dance The Night’ follows the composition of a disco pop genre with a modern twist of retro pop. It goes well with the theme of the movie, and Dua is the perfect musician because she has absolutely nailed the singing. You can very clearly hear the excitement in her voice, which is well-suited to the composition. Lyrics like “Even when the tears are flowing like diamonds on my face / I still keep the party going, not one hair out of place,” give off the vibe of being careless, and just enjoying the moment. Sure, it will give you a plastic-y vibe, but hey, after all, it is a song about Barbie! So listen to the track on Spotify and watch the video on YouTube to get in the feels before hitting the cinemas on the 21st of July.
