Are you fighting with your demons? Learn better with Doja Cat’s latest music video of ‘Demons’ ft. Christina Ricci in a short horror movie that offers both, fear and fun.

Perhaps Halloween came a little sooner as Doja Cat is embarking on a spooky season with her brand new single ‘Demons’. With her blended style of singing and rapping, Doja didn’t fail to put her fans in awe and this time, the music video is also playing a vital role in churning out the taste of horror. Christina Ricci, being the favorite artist of the rapper is also featured in the music video and helped it turn into a well-made short horror movie. Ricci is one of the revered actresses in horror movies and in this video, she played the role of a single mother who moved into a haunted house with her kids.

Proving the art of iconic music videos, this project has turned quite, creepy, fun, and enjoyable at the same time. Doja Cat is all set to promote her upcoming album ‘Scarlet’ with the goal of “freak people out,” and the latest music project ‘Demons’ absolutely fits the frame. In the MV, the rapper-singer could be seen having a makeover of a demon with full-body black prosthetics, with an intention to ruin Christina Ricci’s life and ultimately make her leave the house and run for life with her kids. Christian Breslauer & Doja Cat both have done a terrific job in directing this video and it reflects vividly. It starts with Ricci lying on the bed with sleep paralysis when the demon, i.e. Doja comes crawling out of the dark on the ceiling. Yes, that’s right! On the ceiling!

Rapping with a demonic attitude over the bass-heavy beats offers a disorienting essence of pop. As the bars go, “Are you off a key/I would never let you in my VIP/We are enemies, we are foes/Who are you? And what are those?”; the artist makes a quick transition in her delivery with unnatural rhythms and a profound lyrical approach. It is a representation of a smart move that incorporates being dumb too. However, the quirky musical arrangement is well incorporated through the nightmare-ish music video that offers a tribute to classic horror hits such as Stanley Kubrick’s ‘The Shining’ as well as Tobe Hooper’s ‘Poltergeist’.

‘Demons’ is appearing in the upcoming album ‘Scarlet’ which is all set to drop on September 22. Doja did a great job in teasing this album with the latest release of ‘Demons’ which does not only offers a preview but also enhances anticipation among her fans and other listeners.
