Based out of Orlando, Florida, alternative singer-songwriter duo, Wasting May, is back with their debut EP, ‘Machine’. On 1st September, this EP is packed with incredibly arranged 5 tracks, written and performed by Ethan DeBoard and Evelyn May Nielsen. They made their musical debut in May 2023 with their fascinating single ‘Maureen’. The duo met in their freshmen year in high school in 2018. They both were driven and passionate about music.
DeBoard is a self-taught guitarist and he has been playing guitar since the age of 15. On the other hand, Evelyn May has always been a creative writer and a lyricist. Together they started writing songs in February 2023. While he strives to create engaging, intimate, and unique sounds, she hones her skills and aims to prioritize poeticism. And together they create a strong team based on a honed skill set and impressive musical outcomes. Their 5-song-EP ‘Machine’ is packed with interestingly illustrative releases that every music lover will cherish.
The debut EP of Wasting May portrays creativity and passion. They were inspired to make this EP after they realized how people are losing their autonomy and doing the same thing everyone else is doing, or meant to do. And with EP the rebels their matrix of monotony and creates something consuming and cosmic. The common theme of loss is present in their songs alongside Ethan’s guitars and synths with Evelyn’s lyrics, vocals, and melodies, making their numbers intense.
