A former bodyguard of Taylor Swift, whose name is not revealed, decided to fly back home and join the IDF to serve the country in its fight against Hamas. The bodyguard who served the pop star during the Summer Leg of the ongoing Eras Tour has reportedly returned to his homeland to fight for his country Israel amid the crisis of Israel-Palestine. It is still unclear if Taylor hired the bodyguard herself or if it was arranged by the stadium. The decision to fly back to his home country and join the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) came after he saw the deadly attacks he saw were made on his citizens. He left the United States of America after the war broke out and the first strike hit Israel on October 7th.
Israeli journalist Eran Swisa was the one who broke the news first when she spotted the bodyguard fighting for the IDF. It was later confirmed by Variety magazine that the security guard indeed flew back to Israel and joined the ongoing war against Palestine with IDF reserves. Eran Swisa told the outlet that the bodyguard whose identity has not been revealed was born in Kibbutz in Israel before moving to the States for work. The former security guard told Eran in a statement, “I got a pretty great life back in the US” which she later shared with the magazine. “I got an amazing dream job that I love, great friends that I call family, and a very comfortable home. I didn’t HAVE to come here… But I could not stand on the sidelines while families are being slaughtered and burned alive in their homes!!! Just for being Jewish or for being Israelis,” the former bodyguard of Taylor Swift added.
In his statement that he has given to the Israeli journalist Eran Swisa, the former bodyguard also condemned Hamas operatives and urged everyone to stand with Israel in this fight. “While one side is protecting babies, kids and the elderly, the other side is using those as human shields!!! It’ll be an insult to animals worldwide to call them ‘animals’ but those are not human beings,” he commented on Hamas. “They killed and slaughtered families in their beds alongside family’s [sic] pets!!!! And then they burned the houses down!!!! Try to imagine that happening in your own neighborhood, to your next door neighbours or to a family you know,” he added.
The first attack was made on Israel on October 7th and since then according to the Israeli government and officials, around 1,400 citizens have been killed. On the other hand, Israel did not hold itself and participated in this war which killed over 3000 Palestinians in Gaza, and over 1000 of them were children. While the Palestinian government has already excluded itself and declared Hamas does not represent Palestine, it is unclear when the war will come to an end.
Taylor Swift’s former bodyguard is not the only one who flew back and joined the war for his country, Oded Krashinsky who has previously served celebrities like Nicole Kidman flew from Los Angeles to Israel to join the IDF reverse.
