Emmy-nominated ‘Friends’ star earned immense success and fame for playing one of his finest roles Chandler Bing whose sarcasm and sweetness are loved by all over the world, passed away at the age of 54. He was found in his Los Angeles home dead.
The ten seasons of ‘Friends’, one of the biggest television hits in history, have left a great impact on Matthew’s creative life as he was immensely recognized along with Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, Courtney Cox, and David Schwimmer, played a group of six friends in New York.

Well, Chandler garnered appreciation and praise for his instant humor and lovable charm, and became the most quoted character for his timeless dialogues ‘Could this BE any more awkward?’ and ‘I make jokes when I’m uncomfortable.’
Perry was always open about his inhuman struggle with addiction to alcohol and popularity, once shared about his days of reading the script of ‘Friends’, ‘It was as if someone had followed me around for a year, stealing my jokes, copying my mannerisms, photocopying my world-weary yet witty view of life. One character in particular stood out to me: it wasn’t that I thought I could ‘play’ Chandler. I ‘was’ Chandler.’
Marta Kauffman and David Crane, co-creators of ‘Friends’, and Kevin Bright, executive producer recalled their dearest in a statement. He was always the funniest person in the room. More than that, he was the sweetest, with a giving and selfless heart,’
Maggie Wheeler, who played Chandler’s chaotic love interest Janice in earlier seasons shared his heartfelt feelings on Instagram, writing, ‘What a loss. The world will miss you, mathew Perry,’
Well, Matthew wrote about his ‘Friends’ days in his memoir, ‘Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing’, and described his pain of struggling with addiction, ‘Friends was huge. I couldn’t jeopardize that. I loved the script. I loved my co-actors. I loved the scripts. I loved everything about the show but I was struggling with my addictions, which only added to my sense of shame,’ added, ‘I had a secret and no one could know. I felt like I was gonna die if the live audience didn’t laugh, and that’s not healthy for sure. But I could sometimes say a line and the audience wouldn’t laugh and I would sweat and sometimes go into convulsions,’ Perry continued writing, ‘If I didn’t get the laugh I was supposed to get I would freak out. I felt that every single night. This pressure left me in a bad place. I also knew of the six people making that show, only one of them was sick.’
