Calvin Broadus, excitingly famous as Snoop Dogg, posted on Instagram saying, “After much consideration and conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke.” On Thursday he posted a monochromic photo of him with folded hands which says the aforementioned line, and he also added, “Please respect my privacy at this moment,” along with his icon signature. He captioned the photo again by repeating himself, “I’m giving up smoke.”

10 hours later after he posted about this for the first time, he uploaded another photo on Instagram, a more recent selfie again repeating his previous lines, this time he captioned the photo, “Respect my privacy”. It looks like he is all for gaining health this time. The world has loved him, his craft, and his brainstorming perspective on everything. As he is willing to change for good, and from being the cannabis icon he might be now the icon who can quit smoking.

While some are speculating this is one of his regular puns, as he hasn’t specified whether he is talking about nicotine or marijuana and cannabis. Being someone who is completely clear with his thoughts might be talking about “smoking” as a comprehensive act, but people might have been more reassured if he mentioned marijuana in his post.

As he has often been regarded as the cannabis icon, his announcement of giving up smoking has been a bit of a head-scratcher for some fans. Many of his followers including Queen Latifah, have shown their support for this decision. On the other hand, few people have been showing their concern whether he is being serious or not. Actor Lamorne Morris wrote under Snoop’s Instagram post, “Define… smoke.” Another Instagram user, @ambie02 asked, “Is it April Fool’s Day?”

Apart from Instagram, Twitter, now known s ‘X’ is also flooding with tweets after he shared this post. One of Snoop Dogg’s recent collaborators, T-Pain said, “That’s How We Ballin.” He added, “This video was filmed before @SnoopDogg stopped smoking.” In this video, Snoop is smoking in several portions of the 6.5-minute video, “Stay strong Unc #support,” T-Pain added. Most of the people in this industry are counting on his good health.
