Recently Selena Gomez has shared that she would be concentrating on her acting career as she might take a break from her singing endeavors. No one could think that something this big was cooking up. On Tuesday the “Only Murders in the Building” Star teased about this upcoming biopic. Gomez posted a picture of Ronstadt’s 2013 memoir “Simple Dreams” on her Instagram story, on Tuesday night. And that was enough to ignite the speculation that she might be portraying Linda Ronstadt in her upcoming biopic.

As per the sources, the biopic is in its pre-production stage. The producers of this biopic would be Ronstadt’s manager, John Boylan, and James Keach. Previously they were the producers of the 2019 documentary “Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice.” No more from the casting has been announced yet, only Selena has been selected as the lead of this Ronstadt biopic. Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman directed the 2019 Ronstadt Documentary.

Ronstadt is a legendary country, rock ‘n’ roll, and Latin music singer. Her timeless 1970s albums like “Heart Like a Wheel” and “Simple Dreams” have gained her commercial and critical success. Both of these albums have showcased her diversity across various music genres and singing styles. For her works, she has won 11 Grammys. She also has been honored with the Lifetime Achievement Awards by the Recording Academy and the Latin Recording Academy. She concluded her career in 2011, as she conveyed she would no longer be able to perform due to her progressive supranuclear palsy, which was formerly mistaken for Parkinson’s.

Ronstadt and Gomez share many similarities along with their hair color and they both are Mexican descent genes. While Ronstadt was one of the most celebrated singers of her age, Gomez also proved her worth as a singer on various occasions. The singer has won 240 awards including the American Music Award, Billboard Music Award, and several Guinness World Records. For her performance on Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building,” she has been nominated twice for Golden Globe. She started her acting journey with Disney’s “Wizards of Waverly Place”. Songs like ‘Lose You to Love Me’ and ‘Love You Like a Love Song’ have fueled my growth as a musician. It seems that Gomez can seamlessly pull off this immense task.
