It has been five months already since the initial release of Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ concert film and it is still breaking records on the chart. This blockbuster film has become the most-streamed music film on Disney+. It broke the record on the platform in just three days after it git premiered on March 14.
According to the stats, this three-hour-plus concert film has gathered over a collective 16.2 million hours of watch time and a huge number of viewers. This concert film has surpassed all the other music films on the platform namely, ‘Elton John: Farewell From Dodger Stadium’, ‘The Beatles: Get Back’, ‘Black Is King: A Film by Beyoncé’, as well as ‘Swift’s Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions’.
This concert film by the ‘Speak Now’ singer was first premiered in October last year. Upon the release of the film, it instantly became the highest-grossing concert film ever made in the music industry. It generated more than $92.8 million in just one weekend.
In December, the singer released an expanded version on the celebration of her 34th birthday. The extended version included bits and pieces of previous performances from “The Archer”, “Long Live” and “Wildest Dreams.”
The new version available on Disney+ has its own set of new content. It includes Swift’s previous performances from “Cardigan” along with several surprise songs namely, “Maroon”, “I Can See You”, “You Are in Love”, and “Death by a Thousand Cuts.” On Good Morning America, the ‘Folklore’ singer has offered some sneak peeks for every surprise song each day.
The global trek of her success is still ongoing and it is not just the film but Swift’s musical creations and personal life too. Currently, this 14-time Grammy winner is one a break of two months to focus on her upcoming album ‘ The Tortured Poets Department’ which is all set to release on April 19. She will be soon picking her pace in May with a handful of shows in Paris.
In a recent Instagram Post, the singer was found saying, “Just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who traveled and put so much effort into being at our shows.” She further teased the fans saying, “See you in May when we get back to the Eras Tour!! In the meantime, I’ve got an album to release…”!
