Set to be the ultimate battle of the bands event, Sound Check Fest will feature an impressive lineup that includes bands and drumlines from 16 high schools, 3 middle schools, and 3 historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs).

Sound Check Fest 2024 promises an exhilarating day of entertainment kicking off at 11:00 AM with the YardFest, an outdoor fan fest featuring vendors, food trucks, fun games and activities, music, surprise performances, and more. This high-energy event sets the stage for an unforgettable day that includes Drumline Gym Battles starting at 1:00PM, followed by Marching Band Gym Battles at 2:30PM.

Drawing from his extensive experience as a drummer, producer, and mentor in the industry, Nelson’s session will provide invaluable insights and practical advice to young musicians and performers. Covering topics such as music theory, performance techniques, and career development, participants will have the opportunity to engage with a seasoned professional, gaining inspiration and knowledge to excel in both their academic and creative pursuits.
