The collaboration between Lana Del Rey and Quavo is making a huge impact on the youth of music lovers as ‘Tough’ has become this week’s Favorite New Music. The song topped the weekly music poll and the fans have voted for the team up between Lana and Quavo.
The music poll that was published on Friday shows that most of the fans have chosen the duo for their Western trap project that comes with a unique country-like flavor. The track was released last week and has garnered a significant amount of attention from the fans. The collaboration has received a majority of 66% vote in the pole. The other music artists on the pole were Childish Gambino, Eminem featuring Big Sean and BabyTron as well as Zach Bryan and Morgan Wallen.
Previously on June 20th, Lana Del Rey was performing at her sold-out stadium show at Fenway Park and teased the music project by bringing the Migos rapper on stage. On the other hand, Quavo also hyped this single on his Instagram handle.
The duo has done an amazing job in churning out a blended essence of alt-pop and rap along with an ample dose of country which captivated the fans much. The track is produced by Andrew Watt- and Cirkut who made sure to offer the dreamy vibe that fans look for.
With the lyrics like, “Tough like the scarf on a pair of old leather boots/ Like the blue-collar, red-dirt attitude/ Like a .38 made out of brass/ Tough like the stuff in your grandpa’s glass/ Life’s gonna do what it does/ Sure as the good lord’s up above/ I’m cut like a diamond shining in the rough, tough”; this latest music project is also a symbol of empowerment and true American heart.
At the climax of the song, Quavo says, “I’ll show you around … Come take a ride with me. Whenever. Whenever you ready, call on me.” The chemistry between this duo is currently buzzing among the fans which is also reflected through the official music video of the tracks. With green foliage, country vibes, and unwavering personalities, the music project is quite captivating.
On the release day of the song, Lana Del Rey wrote on Instagram, “Our new song is out with the toughest rapper I know @quavohuncho.”Quavo on the other hand, said that this song is going to be the “Song Of The Summer” through a social media post.
On the public poll of favorite new music of the week, Lana and Quavo’s ‘Tough topped with 66.35%. In the second position, there is Kesha’s “Joyride” with 21.64% votes and then, there is Childish Gambino at 5.45%.
