Yesterday, just a day before he released his 12th Studio album Eminem shared listening instructions for his upcoming album on social media. Today, on the 12th of July he is going to release his ‘The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)’. The 51-year-old American Rapper wrote on Twitter (X), “Public service announcement: the ‘death of Slim Shady’ is a conceptual album, therefore, if you listen to songs out of order they might not make sense. Enjoy.”
This long play has 19 tracks and two of them were released by the rapper already. He released “Houdini” on 31st May and on 2nd July “Tobey” was released featuring Big Sean and BabyTron. Both of the songs gained a large audience base. In this album, there is also a sequel to his 1999 release ‘Guilty Conscience’ with Dr. Dre. His “public service announcement” has put a seal on the speculations about whether he has declared the death of his alter ego Slim Shady. The track list goes like this, ‘Renaissance’, ‘Habits’, ‘Trouble’, ‘Brand New Dance’, ‘Evil’, ‘All You Got’ (skit), ‘Lucifer’, ‘Antichrist’, ‘Fuel’, ‘Road Rage’, ‘Houdini’, ‘Breaking News’ (skit), ‘Guilty Conscience 2’, ‘Head Honcho’, ‘Temporary’, ‘Bad One’, ‘Tobey’ ft. Big Sean, BabyTron, ‘Guess Who’s Back’ (skit), and ‘Somebody Save Me’.
He also emphasized listening to the songs to acquire the complete taste of this album with 19 songs. He also has declared that this one is a “conceptual album” and his fans might have to cope with the fact that he is actually putting an end to his alter ego. Even, the cover art of this album is also showing a portion of his face seemingly breathing and surprised yet in a body bag. This denotes the discard rather than the demise of Slim Shady.

The track list he shared earlier only showed the names of the songs but didn’t share about the featured artists. Later on, he shared a more detailed track list for his audience. His releases have always gained a lot of traction previously and at the same time ignited some controversies, like his 2020 release ‘Abracadabra’ by the Steve Miller Band led to controversy about whether the shooting incident involved Megan The Stallion or not. His songs also have offended RuPaul, cancel culture and transgender community.
This is going to be his first release after he released his previous album ‘Music to Be Murdered By’ in January 2020. For that release, there are two types of opinion one portion was calling it a gripping release, and the other portion was ready to take the so-called façade of an impressive artist and are willing to see whether he has learnt his lesson after all these years. According to many music lovers he was content in his in his “idiosyncratic space”.
