The veteran pop icon of the music industry, Elton John is currently having only one active eye for his vision as the other eye is the severely damaged after infection. The singer revealed that he has been dealing with “severe eye infection” and now, he is only having “limited vision” with one eye.
John used his Instagram handle to share the statement with his fans and explained how his vision has become one of the greatest issues in his life, how started in the summer, and also his healing journey. While the healing journey may be slow, the singer is doing fine now and that’s a big relief for the fans.
The statement reads, “l’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye. I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye,” which assures that he will be back with a bang again.
He further stated, “I am so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks. I have been quietly spending the summer recuperating at home, and am feeling positive about the progress I have made in my healing and recovery thus far.”

Last year, the artist officially announced his retirement from music touring with his last music tour spanning around 5 years. The Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour started back in 2018 and it finally ended last year 2023 with a final performance in Stockholm in July. This tour helped the artist earn over $900 million through its total ticket sales.
It was the highest-grossing music tour of all time in history until Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour took over. Another music tour that also managed to break the record is Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres Tour.
Elton John performed at the Glastonbury 2023 edition which was his last performance in the UK. Talking about his experience, the singer said, ‘I’m never gonna forget this.’ And it goes without saying the fans also will never forget the memories they created with the ‘Crocodile Rock’ hitmaker.
There will be a documentary film released on Disney+ based on the life of the pop legend titled ‘Never Too Late’.
