Embracing the spooky feel of Friday the 13th, the enigmatic and worldwide famous rapper Eminem has released the expanded version of his latest album ‘The Death of Slim Shady’ naming it ‘The Death of Slim Shady: Expanded Mourner’s Edition’. The deluxe version contains two new tracks called ‘Like My Shit’ and ‘Kyrie & Luka’ featuring 2 Chainz and a remixed version of the track ‘Fuel’ featuring Westside Boogie and Grip. There’s also a hilarious “Steve Berman Skit” just for the diehard fans.
The previous tracks were available as digital bonus tracks for those who pre-ordered the special edition of ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)’ in July. According to NME, in a three-star review of the album, they wrote, ‘Much more powerful is ‘Temporary’, a genuinely moving ode to his daughter, Hailie, which proves Marshall Mathers can say something that matters when he wants to.
Fans had suspected a deluxe version of the album might be coming sooner rather than later after it was announced earlier this week that he would provide opening performance duties at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the prolific rapper confirmed the speculations via X (formerly known as Twitter), with a cinematic trailer for the expanded version of the high-concept project.

‘So, who killed Slim Shady? In bringing him back to the light and showing him up as irrelevant, perhaps Eminem’s done his old pal in for good. OK, we get it – Shady was a shocking character. Now that he’s dead, how about getting some new material?’ ‘MISSING: SLIM SHADY Have you seen him #TheDeathOfSlimShady Expanded Mourner’s Edition drops this Friday the 13th,’ the rapper captioned the deluxe edition’s trailer earlier this week. On Wednesday, 11th September, the iconic rapper added another VMAs moment to his mantle when he opened for the MTV Video Music Awards.
He got the entire crowd hyped up while performing his hit track ‘Houdini’ when the audience saw the stage getting filled with several clones of Slim Shady equipped with blond wigs and all. The rapper ditched the blonde mop and teamed up with Jelly Roll for their emotional “Somebody Save Me” collaboration. The album when arrived in July it debuted at the top of Billboard 200 with 281,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending July 18.
