Last Saturday, Chappell Roan was the musical guest of the famous show Saturday Night Live which is hosted by none other than John Mulaney. In the show, Chappell was seen to be performing her hit track ‘Pink Pony Club’ along with a brand-new country song called ‘The Giver’. Last Saturday’s episode was the final one before Election Day which is on November 5th and it featured an appearance from Kamala Harris. The vice president acted alongside Maya Rudolph, who was in character as the Democratic candidate for president.

Chappell Roan boasted all the glitz and glamour of a true Midwest Princess in an unforgettable performance on Saturday Night Live. The synth-pop star, 26, appeared as the musical guest in the sketch comedy show’s Nov. 2 episode, with comedian John Mulaney as the host. In a performance marked by elaborate, colorful, and fun sets and costumes, Roan was introduced by Mulaney, 42, for her first song of the night, her hit track, ‘Pink Pony Club.’ Dressed in a glittering white, floor-length gown, the singer wore a voluminous red wig with silver streaks and bold eye makeup as she began the song sitting on a throne-like chair.

For her second set,she surprised people by singing a country song that no one had heard before.Set to a farm-like backdrop, she sang, ‘When you need the job done, call me, baby. Cause you ain’t gotta tell me. It’s just in my nature. Take it like a taker, cause baby I’m a giver.’ As of now, the song called ‘The Giver’ is not available online yet.Roan sang in the refrain of the new song, which shares a theme with ‘Femininomenon’ in making the argument that pleasing a woman is sometimes (or always?) a job best left to a fellow woman.

‘All you country boys saying you know how to treat a woman right,’ Roan said during a spoken word aside in the song — ‘Well, only a woman knows how to treat a woman right. She gets the job done.’Although the song title was not known prior to its debut on ‘SNL,’ and fans were guessing from its chorus that it was called ‘She Gets the Job Done,’ NBC posted a portion of the performance on social media afterward with a caption revealing that it is called ‘The Giver.’

This past week, Roan posted a photo of herself with the LP jacket of her debut album and suggested in the caption that it was about to be supplanted by a new one, though no hint of a timetable for its recording or release was offered. (‘Album kinda popped off imo but it is time to welcome a hot new bombshell into the villa,’ she wrote, riffing on a catchphrase from the TV reality series ‘Love Island.’) But her producer/co-writer, Dan Nigro, offered clues to how the sophomore album is going in a recent New York Times interview, saying they’d done five tracks so far — and noting that one of them was a ‘fun, up-tempo country song’ that includes ‘a fiddle… a new version of Chappell.’
