The Queen Bey or Beyonce is the pioneer of the modern pop industry as the artist has helped many others to be a part of the industry. With her credibility and power, she helped to empower others and teamed up with her partner Jay-Z for multiple projects. With more than 99 nominations, the multi-award-winning artist has been reigning in the music industry for more than two decades.
She offered an extremely captivating version of her hit track ‘Daddy Lessons’ back at the 50th Country Music Awards in 2016. She faced racial slur when a woman screamed at her “Get that Black b***h off the stage!” However, she always remained unfazed. What is more important is her political influence and how she can make people vote.
When Beyonce dropped her highly anticipated project, ‘Texas Hold ‘em’, a single from Act II: Cowboy Carter’, a lot of people criticized her Country-inspired cross-genre album as the pop queen was trying something new and exploring herself. Pop is usually considered the largely dominant area of White musicians and similarly, jazz and hip-hop are dominated by Black artists.
However, Beyonce is best known for making an exception and she did that in the case of her musical journey as well. She also embraced her country roots and did not feel like explaining what she was doing. The Texan singer knows how to put her roots in her music and that’s what makes her unwavering.
As a Black pop artist, Beyonce has broken many records in the constantly growing pop industry and it seems like there is no limit to it. She made her place in Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart as well as the all-genre Hot 100 chart with ‘Texas Hold ‘em’. Till now, the singer has received a total of 99 nominations at the Grammys and took a total of 32 Grammy Awards at home.
Talking about her musical experimentation, Beyonce said, “Because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of country music and studied our rich musical archive…The criticisms I faced when I first entered this genre forced me to propel past the limitations that were put on me. Act ii is a result of challenging myself, and taking my time to bend and blend genres together to create this body of work.”
She is a queen for a reason and will be staying in that way.
