Miley Cyrus had one of the greatest years of music the previous year. Her single ‘Flowers’ earned the artist’s first no 1 song on Billboard Hot 100 and spent a whopping 10 weeks on the chart. The song also got Cyrus her first Grammy ever!! However, this does not change the beautiful singer that we know. In all her success Miley has maintained her humbleness. Even while accepting her first Grammy award on stage, she delivered a speech not every artist has the guts to deliver! While accepting the award on stage, our bold queen said, “This is amazing but I really hope it doesn’t change anything, because my life was beautiful yesterday.” “Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy but everyone in this world is spectacular, so please don’t think that this is important, even though it’s very important,” she further explained.
Miley Cyrus is arguably the most successful ex-Disney act we have ever seen. Though Hannah Montana was something that made her a household name in the entire world, her discography post-Disney and her incredible stage presence are what made her one of the most talented singers and performers in the world of music right now. Her versatility, her powerful vocals, and her musical talent are not something that everyone possesses, which is why her fandom, the Smiler absolutely obsesses over the star. At the same time, that does not mean that they know everything about her. If you are an ardent Miley fan, let’s test your knowledge with these 8 unknown facts about the ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer.
8 unknown facts about Miley Cyrus

Would it be crazy if we told you Miley Cyrus was not the real name she was born with? That is actually true. The beloved Hannah Montana was born with the name Destiny Hope Cyrus. In 2008, the music superstar legally changed her name to Miley Ray. Her father, ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ country singer Billy Ray Cyrus once appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and revealed that he and his wife gave their daughter the name because “it was her destiny to bring hope to the world”.

The Disney teen sitcom Hannah Montana ran from 2006 to 2011, and it initially rejected Miley as the leading character. Every singer has some songs that they don’t like. It might be the cause of them being over-popular or the feeling that they did not give their best in the tracks. Miley Cyrus and her discography are no strangers to this. But who would have thought that the tracks she hates would be some of the most recognizable songs in her discography?
In an event to support her clothing line collaboration with the late fashion designer Max Azria, Miley revealed that she does not like her 2009 iconic hit ‘Party in the USA’ from her debut album ‘The Time of Our Lives’. In a blog, the singer wrote, “I didn’t write it [and] I didn’t expect it to be popular originally. It was just something that I wanted to do and I needed some songs and it turned out for the best.” Then she added that the song was not even her type of music.
Another song that she despises is ‘Wrecking Ball’ one of the fan-favorites. In an interview with The Zach Sang Show, Miley revealed that she does not like ‘Wrecking Ball’. “That’s something you can’t take away, swinging around naked on a wrecking ball lives forever,” she said. “Once you do that [in the way] that I did, it’s forever. I’m never living that down. I will always be the naked girl on a wrecking ball, no matter how much I frolic with emu, I’m always the naked girl on the wrecking ball. [And] I just licked the sledgehammer.” She also said that she had one particular fear regarding the track. She further explained, “I should’ve thought [about] how long that was going to follow me around,” she said. “That’s my worst nightmare is that being played at my funeral…’We’ll always remember Miley’ and then that.”

She launched the foundation after she was moved by the tragic incident of trans teen Leelah Alcorn taking her own life in 2014.

In a candid interview with Elle in 2019, the singer was asked about her thoughts on motherhood and why she is not pursuing one currently. To which the musician replied saying, “We’re expected to keep the planet populated. And when that isn’t a part of our plan or our purpose, there is so much judgment and anger that they try to make and change laws to force it upon you — even if you become pregnant in a violent situation.” “If you don’t want children, people feel sorry for you, like you’re a cold, heartless bitch who’s not capable of love … Why are we trained that love means putting yourself second and those you love first? If you love yourself, then what? You come first,” she continued.
Then she was asked about the decision she wanted to make for herself. She said, “We’re getting handed a piece-of-s— planet, and I refuse to hand that down to my child. Until I feel like my kid would live on an earth with fish in the water, I’m not bringing in another person to deal with that.”
