Concert movies are currently gaining much popularity among fans who are not always able to physically experience the concerts. However, Coldplay is trying something new! The band has recently announced a brand new movie project which is called ‘A Film For The Future’. It is a 44-minute long movie that will accompany the band’s highly acclaimed album ‘Moon Music’.
This film is all set to premiere on 22nd January through YouTube and fans are eagerly waiting for it. It will be also offering an immersive lightroom screening experience in the cities namely London, Manchester, and Seoul. The tickets for the Lightroom screening are already available for fans to secure.
The upcoming film is going to be a very special project for the band as it has been created by more than 150 different visual artists who belong to 45 different countries around the world. Each of the artists was given a handful of snippets from the album Moon Music and was asked to make corresponding visuals.
The visual artists were also given ample room for creativity and surprise elements as no rules or guidelines were provided to them. They did not even have prior knowledge of each other’s creations in order to embrace the distinctive flavors of individuality in creativity.
Executive producer Ben Mor has previously directed the music video for ‘Hymn For The Weekend’ where Coldplay and Beyonce were performing in India. He said that the upcoming film is “a kaleidoscopic patchwork quilt – a 44-minute multimedia tapestry.”
He further continued, “It was a huge privilege to have the bird’s eye view of such an ambitious project, working with so many incredible animators and filmmakers all working independently of each other. The final film is simply jaw-dropping and I can’t wait for Coldplay’s fans to see it.”
The band is also delighted with this film and they said, “We’re very grateful to all the amazing artists who lent their genius to this film. They’ve created something very beautiful and we’re extremely proud of it.”
Moon Music is the no.1 album released by the band which topped all the charts when it was released back in October. It instantly became Coldplay’s fifth US No. 1 album as well as in the United Kingdom. The album project outsold the rest of the 40.
