Universal Music Group has recently launched a new music health fund by teaming up with the Music Health Alliance or MHA. On February 13, the label announced this collaboration through a post on social media.
The purpose of this alliance is to provide mental health treatment and other services to musical professionals across the USA, including former music artists and also those who have not signed under the label or are connected to UMG.

This partnership is based on the previous four-year healthcare program by both companies that received many personalized recommendations for mental health services and counselors to help the artists. Chappell Roan, Billie Eilish, and many other music artists have actively advocated for mental health needs in the industry.
The latest collaboration will offer grants to offset costs as well as funding to ensure complete care of the music artists with the help of additional financial and mental health support. A lot of music artists struggle with medical treatment at their old age and this new program helps them avoid the obstacles.
Music Health Alliance (MHA) is best known for offering all kinds of medical and health services for artists in the music industry. Other than the Mental Health Fund, they also provide family health insurance, vision care, senior care support, dental care resources, and many others.

UMG and MHA, both have worked hard to take care of the artists in the industry and they served “nearly 1,000 clients and saved them more than $ 12.5 million in healthcare costs” according to the official website of Music Industry Mental Health Fund.
UMG shared a small video about the tie and the caption reads, “UMG & @MusicHealthAlliance expand their 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝 —providing essential resources for music professionals nationwide.”
The importance of mental health services and well-being among the artists is important for the growth of the industry and this initiative will empower the individuals. However, how they will appoint the professionals is still unclear.
Mental health is also a crucial topic in the music industry where a majority of the artists face mental health issues and discrimination for it. Perhaps it will help to save many artists like Mac Miller who left too early. Check out the official website of Music Health Alliance (MHA) and find out more details.
