It has been a long time since AMA took place in 2022. After a long halt, the America Music Awards is returning this year and the anticipation for AMA 2025 is high right now. This time, the time frame is scheduled for Memorial Day, and also a new venue; Las Vegas is the destination for this grand event. It will be aired through its new network CBS.

Previously, the last fall, the network and Dick Clark Productions had teased the comeback of the award show and Memorial Day is taking place on the weekend which makes it perfect for the celebration. With Monday’s announcement, it has been confirmed that AMA this year will take place on a Holiday, ensuring that everyone can join.

It will get live on all time zones on May 26th and the time is set to be at 8 p.m. ET and 5 p.m. PT. Other than CBS, the show will be also telecasted on Paramount+ which audiences can stream online. Although, the hosting city is Las Vegas; the particular venue for the event has not been declared yet. According to the organizers, AMAs are trying to “pay tribute to our country’s troops.”

American Music Awards has ended its long-term deal with the ABC and CBS has already offered an introduction for “American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special.”  This special received much attention with its execution in 2024 rather than the final installation in 2022 by the former network.

CBS and Clark Productions did waste this opportunity to boast their high ratings which marked “the largest year-over-year growth of a music special or award show in the world.” Previously when AMA took place in 2022, the show took place at its traditional time of the fall and it was aired from Los Angeles through the network of ABC.

However, it gained a 0.6 rating from the viewers and its key demographic of 18-49-year-old adults. The show only received 3.53 million total viewers which is a record low number for a grand event like this. With a shift from the traditional time and venue for AMAs, the Billboard Music Awards will now take place in the traditional fall Slot.

The AMA was created by Dick Clark back in 1974 for the ABC network and it could not host Grammys anymore as the lost the deal to CBS. It seems like it is a good time for the CBS workers.
