Victory’s debut single in 2019, “Savor the View,” was an R&B heartbreaker written to musically commemorate his late father and promote the audiobook version of his first book, “Views from the Cockpit.” “Savor the View” and the numerous tracks that followed introduced music and book readers to a multi-faceted artist on a mission to make a difference.

“Focus” is the brand-new single from Ross Victory, released worldwide via all major streaming services on Saturday, January 7, 2023 – the singer’s birthday. Produced by Lucid Soundz, “Focus” is a mid-tempo track with guitar and bass riffs and memorable trumpet accents. With soothing vocals, catchy lyrics, and melodies, Ross paints a picture for the listener, reminding us of the demands we face in everyday life on our attention and the risk we face if we decide not to feed our goals.
“I’m losing my mind, losing my focus. You make a lot of noise, take up my focus,” he sings, switching between falsetto and head voice. “I switched lanes, now I should be focused on the big things, but I’m confused by the noise of the little things,” he continues with an appropriate message of focus and discipline – a much-needed reminder to complement our 2023 New Years’ resolutions.
The track is supported by a verse from songwriter and hip-hop/rap artist AJ Causey. AJ is best known as one of the veterans of Track Martians Group, “Hidef Cypher.”
AJ raps, “I got more dreams, got more to think than myself, Without the external stress, I wouldn’t believe in myself; my pride left me homeless, didn’t believe in no help.”
AJ Causey is a native of Alexandria, LA, who journeyed to Los Angeles, CA, in 2019. In 2020, AJ launched his established label, Great Human Beings, Speak Records, LLC. Watch a clip of the two songwriters talk about the “Power of Self Expression,”
