English writer and singer Ed Sheeran has come up with his latest single ‘Afterglow’. It is the first music after the birth of her newborn child in August.
The singer announced the birth of the daughter in September and named her Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran.
Sheeran shared a post on Instagram writing, “Hey guys. Afterglow is a song I wrote last year that I wanted to release for you”.
He further confirmed that the single would not be featured in any album and said, “It’s not the first single from the next album, it’s just a song I love and hope you love too”.
The singer shared his greetings and said, “Enjoy ! Have a safe and happy festive break and New Year’s. Back to dad land for me now, ciao x.”
‘Afterglow’ is the first solo single by this artist and this acoustic mellow ballad has already garnered a lot of attention.
The track was released on 21st December 2020 as a Christmas gift to his fans and followers.
However, the subject matter of this track revolves around his wife Cherry Seaborn Sheeran. The singer talks about living the moment with his wife and she is one he wants to live the rest of his life.
In the track he sings, “We loved drunk waiting on a miracle/Trying to find ourselves in the winter snow/So alone in love like the world had disappeared.”
Ed Sheeran’s last studio album ‘Divide’ in 2017 was the greatest hit that won Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album.
