Artist Tom Jones had announced his new project Surrounded By Time that would feature a reimagined version of Todd Snider’s ‘Talking Reality Television Blues’ just earlier this month. Now, he is back with the second preview of his upcoming studio album which is his first project in over five years.
This time, he is reworking Malvina Reynolds’ hit single, ‘No Hole In My Head’ alongside an accompanying video that has the singer and others in interrogation.
According to Jones, this song holds power and relevance at any age and time. The song is about boosting self-morale and gaining confidence in who a person really is. He also added that we are living in a time where the media controls human perspectives, opinions, and notions. As a result, the song’s importance lies in telling the audience the significance of knowing their true selves.
The project Surrounded by time is co-produced by Ethan Johns and Mark Woodward and will mark his first studio album since the release of Long Lost Suitcase that came out in 2015. All the songs are reimagined versions of songs that had an impact on his life and career.
The single is out already. The album will release on 23rd April through EMI Records.
