Every hip-hop artist and moreover hip-hop enthusiast gets highly excited with only one name which is the BET Hip-hop Awards. The 2023 BET Awards were a huge success with Kendrick Lamar with the most number of wins. On that evening at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, he took 4 awards home for his impressive works in 2022 and 2023. While every eyes are on the 2024 BET Awards ceremony, once again revisit the glory of 2023’s BET hip-hop awards.
Most Number of Wins: Kendrick Lamar
The rapper won in every category he was nominated in. These four categories of HIP-HOP ARTIST OF THE YEAR were hip hop artist of the Year, lyricist of the Year, best live performer, and video director of the Year. He also received another award with his collaborator Dave Free.
Other Prominent Winners:
Apart from him various artists also took home several awards, including renowned names like Drake & 21 Savage, who won the Hip Hop Album of the Year for Her Loss and Best Duo or Group Hip Hop Album of the Year for Her Loss and also won best duo or group of 2023.
Lil Durk feat. J. Cole won the (best collaboration and impact track for his release “All My Life”. Lil Uzi Vert’s song, “Just Wanna Rock”, won the Song of the Year and Best Hip Hop Video. The producer of the year title went to Metro Boomin in 2023. Swizz Beatz and Timbaland were both honored with the cultural influence award on the night. Marley Marl was also recognized for the night with the title of “I Am Hip Hop” award.
The Most Nominated Category:
Cardi B and 21 Savage have received the most number of nominations in the BET Hip Hop Awards 2023. They both had 12 nominations, while Cardi B didn’t win in any of these 12 categories, but 21 Savage won in 2 of them.

BET Hip-hop Awards 2024:
The tentative date for BET Hip-hop Awards 2024, 30th June 2024, Sunday. And the show will be telecast on all BET live from Los Angeles, from 8 ETA onwards. As per the track record of the BET Awards, the nominations for the 2024 ceremony will be revealed in the first week of June. The host of the show along with the performance list will be revealed before the show. And for the winners, you will have to wait for the night to happen.
