On Saturday, Afro-pop singer-songwriter Kwame Ayi Kwaw most popular as Stone Gee bagged the artiste of the year Award at this year’s edition of the Annual Eastern Music Awards (EMA).
The talented artist has beaten the likes of Obaya, Elly Element, Tee Rhyme, Rany Dopesongz, Koo Kyei, Koo Ntakra, and Ruff Tee to win the award. Held in Koforidua, the Ceremony entertained a large number of personalities including several artists and actors.
The enthusiastic artiste took home the Eastside song of the year along with the Afro-pop song of the year award with his popular hit song, No More. The ceremony attracted over 25 celebrities and personalities who were also paid tribute for their contributions towards the development of the creative industry in the Eastern Region and Ghana. After the awards ceremony was over, Stone Gee expressed his heartfelt gratitude to God and all his fans home, and abroad for the immense support he has had since he had joined the Ghanaian music industry.
The winner of the 2020 Eastern Music Awards Artiste of the year advised his colleagues to take music very seriously, especially the art of stagecraft and singing. Furthermore, he also asked them to practice consistently, showcase their talent, and look out for places to perform. The singer promised to work tirelessly to promote Ghanaian music on the global platform. Stone Gee is currently busy promoting No More and disclosed that he has several singles backed up to entertain his fans.
Stone is one of the very few talented young singers whose songs nurture unique features in terms of style and beat, which is a new element in the current music scene. It was only some years back when Stone Gee was discovered by the Chief Executive Officer of Gavali Music Records named Richard Essien (Magic Rocker).
