The K-pop industry was given a boost by this charming boy band’s charming screen presence and highly intelligent ways to communicate. “Things change, people change, everything change,” this was the statement made by the BTS leader RM most musically through their ‘Change PT 2’ the squelchy. This was a needling song from his 2022 solo album ‘Indigo’. They have done so many things in such a short time from their interesting hip-hop rookie vibes to the pastel shades days, they have changed and evolved through time most reflectively.

Over this period of 10 years, they have done the same thing, changing and not limiting themselves to one sort of track and a particular musical vibe. They have enriched their styles and have been evolving over a breadth of sounds. Each of their releases added something more and has expanded their sonic identity over the years. They haven’t taken their popularity for granted even a single time yet they have kept track of the rich tapestry of music through their daunting musical adventures and curious experiments.
Initiation
Initially, they started with hip-hop and Big Hit Entertainment, now known as HYBE, founder Bang Si-hyuk came up with a great idea to form a group around RM and his excellent rapping styles. By then he was a teen rapper emerging in the Korean underground music business, and the seven came together, and the rest is surely a history that all of us would like to go through over and over.
The Ruling Seven
The group of 3 rappers and 4 singers was extremely clear and their debut release unveiled their intention with the track ‘No More Dreams’. This was an insisted track that tackled the pressure that is put on every young people to yearn for the drams of society dictating their dreams and their course of the path to follow that dreams.
Debut
The hip-hop genre artists have paved their path with charming releases like the School series. In 2013 they dropped 2 Cool 4 Skool’ and ‘O!RUL8,2?’, and 2014’s ‘Skool Luv Affair’. These releases have made sure to touch on topics that are affecting this generation and which should be changed. Other relevant issues like school crushes and schoolmates. They also have inspired this generation by giving them the words to rise against the brutal pressures put on them in the course of the education system.
Rising
In 2015 they dropped ‘Baepsae’. This deceptively performed track with some truckload hip-thrusts. The song has been a clever critique of socio-economic injustice along with the unjustified attitudes of the older generation. By they have reached their 2017 release ‘Go Go’ they have become the worldwide favorite for their charming music releases. And their 2020 release ‘UGH!’ from their ‘Map Of The Soul: 7’ turned its focus to keyboard warriors spreading bile online, similarly, this release was also a hit.
In 2020 just like the rest of us BTS also took a back seat to their musical career and spread supportive words and comforting thoughts for every human being and their all-time trusted fandom BTS army members. Later on, they turned towards more musical vibes including big glossy, euphoric pop, and a sparkle of disco. Their English trilogy ‘Dynamite’ kicked off with a band and had become one of the most unique and popular pop anthems of all time.
From their rise to their separation to servicing their military period, the world has witnessed them closely and has prayed for their reunion since the heartbreaking news came out last year. But it is only evident that they are all meant to be together and their latest chapter 4, announcement has shaken the world, and seeing them back together is surely one the best things of 2023 by far.
