Renowned late musician RD Burman has etched his name in the hearts of millions with his timeless music. His songs are not just relevant until now but continue to touch the hearts with the same love and happiness as before. The legendary singer had composed some evergreen songs like ‘Aaap Ki Ankhon Mein’ or ‘Tujhse Naraaz Nahi Zindagi’ with his music that made his fans feel all kinds of emotions at once. Be it hurt, pain, happiness, or love. And, a couple of his songs like ‘Dum Maro Dum’, ‘Mehbooba Mehbooba’, or ‘Piya Tu Ab Toh Aaja’, the singer even made everyone groove to his music.
The phenomenal composer, who would have turned 82 today, got his first movie as a music director in 1966 with actor Shammi Kapoor’s Teesri Manzil. During the 1970s, RD Burman became highly renowned with Kishore Kumar songs that were featured in Rajesh Khanna-starrer movies.
In total, the composer composed music for nearly 40 movies starring Rajesh Khanna, and later on, Burman went ahead to compose multiple popular songs where the vocals were lent by Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, and Asha Bhosle. Unfortunately, the legendary musician’s life was short-lived. RD Burman left for his heavenly abode on January 4, 1994, at the age of 54. The last movie for which Burman composed music was Anil Kapoor’s 1942: A Love Story. The music of the film was released after the saddening death of the music composer.
