Def Leppard has recently launched the Def Leppard Vault, an online archive that they’re calling the first-ever digital rock’n’roll museum. According to the reports it is supposedly going to features some never-seen-before products, photos, video, audio commentary, merchandise, and interviews.
Leppard’s earthly representatives have recently released a statement that says that the band shall continue to personally curate and shall also regularly update this online destination as a hub for their past, present, and future. It is expected to grow along with their career as they consistently add new artifacts and content throughout the weeks, months, and over the years.
Joe Elliott has added that after months of digging through their rock and roll closets, they are thereby presenting to all their history. He also added that their historic vault shall continue to get updated with the installments as the others might have seen with some other gems which they promise no-one would have ever seen before. It’s a true backstage pass for any Def Leppard or rock and roll fan!
Brad Mindich of Inveniem, the Los Angeles-based technology and archival company behind the vault has said that they are extremely honored to be trusted by the band who have helped them find, curate, and also present their expansive history to the fans in this new, digital environment.
Furthermore, Mindich continued saying that Def Leppard’s stories and other artifacts are extraordinary and their desire to want to create the Def Leppard Vault such that they can share their legacy directly with their fans reinforces the reason as to why they have been so impactful in music and culture for more than four decades.
Another most exciting part is that it is just getting started. There is so much more that is yet to be discovered from the band and the fans alike that will be added to the Def Leppard Vault over the months and years to come.
Amongst the collections that have been already added to the Vault is On The Road which highlights the photos, backstage passes, historical instruments, and tour itineraries, while Jacket Required features the stage attire from the band’s collection.
All I’ve Got Is a Photograph displays the photography and the promotional images, and a track-by-track in respect to the celebration of the 25th anniversary of their all-time greatest hits album Vault that comes added with audio and video commentary from all the band members.
The items that are currently available for sale in the merchandise section of the Vault range from the replica local crew r-shirts available at just $24.95 to RIAA-certified multi-platinum sales awards for Vault and Hysteria available at $285.
Buyers can also pick up a roomy and hooded wrap style robe with a self-fabric belt and two front pockets as has been modeled by the band after the in-the-round shows on the Hysteria tour which prices at just $95, and also comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Sometime earlier this week, Joe Elliott’s side project Down ‘N’ Outz had marked the anniversary of the death of David Bowie after they released a video of their heartfelt Bowie tribute, Goodnight Mr. Jones.
