Kaleidoscope Festival 2024 was a blast with an ecstatic celebration of music, art, and culture. The event took place at the Alexandra Palace which has always been a preferable venue for everyone. With a stunning representation of architecture and London sky in the background, this palace turned into a magical realm with the festival. People could be seen vibing with colorful outfits and glitters, churning out the true essence of celebration. The event started with the performance of R Voices, which is known as a “warm, inclusive, contemporary choir for adults.” Their unparalleled sync and organic vocal skills did not fail to bring back the hits of Eurythmics, Scissor Sisters, Stevie Nicks, and many others. And the best part is that anyone from the crowd can join them.

The person who brought more clarity and calmness in everyone was no other than Sir Brian Blessed! His conversations with the audiences are often larger than life and offer a greater introspection. Mr Blessed offered a hefty dose of motivation for all while he stayed charming at 87 years. Similarly, there was Antony Szmierek who literally jumped around the stage while encouraging audiences, especially kids to do the same. Szmierek unveiled a vessel of unlimited energy that channeled through the audiences. One of his most intriguing tracks namely “Working Classic” set a benchmark in the event that depicts the picture of  9-5 workers looking forward to escape.

Kaleidoscope Festival 2024 made sure to create separate sections for all kinds of audiences. They built a special Family Stage that offered a mini version of the festival only for the kids. The event-goers also enjoyed the presence and influence of African cultures as the show included African Acrobatics Circus along with drumming, fire eating, and many other surprising features. People also enjoyed the presence of Chickenshed Theatre, a renowned theatre company that has been working in the field for more than 5 decades in a row. There was also a separate band stage for talented groups such as Let Drum Beat. The members of this band hail from different corners of the world such as Brazil, West Africa, France, and Scotland.

When the sun came down, it was time for Soul II Soul to headline the event, best known for the hit track “Back to Life”. The performance by Ministry of Sound Classical was also quite enthralling as they played some of their biggest hits of all time. Just like the name of the festival suggests, Kaleidoscope offers a wide range of colors, flavors, and sounds to enjoy which creates unity with diversity. Perhaps, that is what the people of London stand for.
