“HonaNahi Mein Recover” – is not some word from Diljit Dosanjh’s one of the most iconic track Lover but now those are the official words that Ed Sheeran also sang. He also probably meant that we would not be able to recover from the unforgettable moments that the ‘Perfect‘ singer gifted to his beloved Indian audience. He was in India for a concert on Saturday evening. The singer is currently on the ‘+ – = ÷ x’ Tour which had a quick step in India on Saturday. He performed an elongated set of his most popular tracks from his last four albums in Mumbai. He practically lit up the stage with his electrifying performance at the Mahalaxmi Race Course. Over the time of two and a half hours, he treated the audience to a repertoire of over 30 songs.

The singer left Mumbai, India on Sunday morning after having an eventful 4-day stay. This was his second time visiting the country after his last concert in Mumbai in 2017. Since he departed, the moments that the Grammy-winning singer created will forever last in the hearts of Indians. So here are the top 5 moments from Sheeran’s trip to India.

The ‘Shape Of You’ singer posted a video on Instagram with Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan. In the video, the ‘Photograph’ singer was seen striking the signature pose of Khan alongside the Bollywood Badshah. Opening his hands in a similar manner, the singer captioned the post “This is the Shape of Us. Spreading love together.” He also visited the famous restaurant Torii Mumbai, which is owned by the Indian superstar’s wife Gauri Khan. There he posed with the restaurant owner. Now in a deleted post by choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan, Ed was also seen playing his guitar and singing his very popular track ‘Perfect’ where SRK sat closely beside him and listened to the singing. This video melted the hearts of thousands of Indians as they got to watch two of the most beloved celebrities in the country. Shahrukh’s recent comeback with three superhit films back to back earned him the love from the netizens where Ed Sheeran performed in front of the third biggest crowd in the country this Saturday. However, the post is now removed from Instagram as Farah supposedly deleted the video of the two together.

2. Reunited with Farah Khan

When Ed Sheeran first came to Mumbai it was 2015 and he was treated to a very big Bollywood bash hosted by none other than the famous choreographer-director Farah Khan. He came and partied with some of the biggest Bollywood stars and singers, and the pictures went crazily viral on social media. Farah and Ed looked like old friends chilling and enjoying their day partying away all the worries in the world. Since then the netizens, especially social media users have been waiting for the duo to reunite. Following the trend of welcoming the singer to the country, Farah threw a welcome bash in honor of Ed visiting Mumbai again. But before that, the two casually met up at Torii Mumbai where Shahrukh and Gauri Khan were also present. Ed then caught up with other Bollywood celebrities like Madhuri Dixit, Malaika Arora, Rajkumar Rao, and Huma Qureshi, among others. Just like the previous party, the singer seemed to enjoy this one to the fullest too. While conversing, he even told Huma that he had seen her debut film ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’.

Ed Sheeran came to the country as part of his ‘+ – = ÷ x’ Tour and the crowd welcomed the singer like never before. As per reports, more than 50K people from across the country gathered to witness the English singer-songwriter perform live at the Mahalakshmi Race Course in Mumbai on Saturday. This was indeed overwhelming for the singer, however, he also had surprises for his Indian fans and it was not just his mind-blowing singing skills. Mid-performance, he got beloved Punjabi singer-actor DiljitDosanjh on stage. The singer joined Sheeran and gave the Indian audience what they had been missing, Sheeran singing in Punjabi! Diljit performed his most popular track ‘Lover’ on stage and to everyone’s surprise, Sheeran sang along. While strumming the guitar, he sang in Punjabi for the first time ever, collaborating with Diljit on the very same track.

4. Collaboration with Armaan Malik

Apparently, Diljit Dosanjh was not the only surprise guest at Ed Sheeran’s concert in Mumbai on Saturday. The audience also got a huge surprise when singer Armaan Malik came on stage to perform alongside Sheeran. The duo performed their global hit 2step live for the audience for the first time. It was indeed a memorable moment for everyone in the audience as well as for Armaan himself. The singer later took to Instagram to share the video of them singing with the caption, “Truly a full circle moment for me! Thank you, Ed, for bringing me on to perform 2step last night 🫶🏻🦋❤️ @teddysphotos”. However, this was also not the only collaboration that happened between these two. Ed Sheeran also made his fans go crazy with his dynamic moves to the tunes of ‘ButtaBomma’, an Allu Arjun song. Malik got the ‘I Don’t Care’ singer to show his moves to Allu Arjun’s ButtaBomma song from Telugu hit Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, which again is sung by Malik. The two then shared the stage together where Malik convinced Sheeran to strike Shah Rukh’s famous posture once more.

5. School Visit

 

Before all the collaborations and catch-ups with Bollywood celebrities, Ed Sheeran finished a necessary deed. To much surprise of the netizens, on Tuesday the singer was seen visiting a school in Mumbai! In front of the students there, he also performed his global Grammy-winning hit ‘Shape Of You’. Each student also had a solo vocal performance ready for the singer visiting there. Ed was seen smiling and cheering as the students opened up to him, spending a good time together. Ed posted the video on Instagram alongside the caption, “Had a great time visiting a school in Mumbai this morning and exchanging performances with the students. Fantastic to be back in India as well!”
